It was a pretty cool city, I toured the castle and the medieval city. There are a lot of people, but it's still nice. The food is inexpensive and there are plenty of activities for all age groups.

It's very safe. There are always people around especially in the Medieval city. This is because they have a lot of events in the evenings like a concert or a music show. The Place Carnot is also a lively area with restaurants and clubs open till late night.
Posted: March 23, 2026Carcassonne is fine for tourists, just don’t talk to the people around the train station and don’t go into the middle of the town at night. The Cité is great and we have lots of cool restaurants to try.
