Is Bidart Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Bidart is generally safe for solo female travelers. It's a peaceful small town on the French Basque coast with friendly locals. Reported crime rates are low and it's unlikely that you'll encounter any serious issues. However, like any traveler, you should always take precautions: be mindful of your personal belongings and avoid going alone to isolated areas, especially at night.

Street harassment:Low

Bidart is generally known as a safe and peaceful village, predominantly popular for its beautiful beaches and vibrant surfing scene. As with any destination, minor incidents of street harassment may occur, but it is not commonly reported or encountered. However, I highly recommend always maintaining vigilance and understanding the culture and customs.
Petty crimes:

Is Bidart worth visiting?

Solo travel

In general, I felt very safe in Bidart, even at night. I didn’t see people hang around in the streets at night. I would recommend visiting the beaches in the village as well as the small centre town. I would also recommend to take a surf lesson or at least rent a surfboard, which is not too expensive, if you have already served before.
