How safe is Beziers?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Beziers, like most places in France, is generally safe to walk around at night. It is a quiet and peaceful city, with friendly, welcoming locals. However, as in any location around the world, it is always important to remain aware of your surroundings and avoid poorly lit or deserted areas at late hours. Don't flash valuable possessions, keep belongings close, and trust your instincts. It is more advisable to come back to your hotel by taxi if you're far from your accommodation and it's already too late.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Beziers is generally quite reliable and safe. The city operates a well-maintained bus system that offers extensive routes covering nearly the entire city. It's mostly safe to travel during the day, but it's always advisable to keep a sharp eye on belongings just like in any other city. Traveling at night is also deemed fairly safe but it's suggested to use taxis or trusted ride-hailing apps for extra peace of mind. Furthermore, personnel and travelers are usually friendly and willing to help if necessary.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Beziers is generally safe for solo female travelers. Street harassment is not frequently reported, with locals and tourists alike commenting on the respectful nature of its residents. As with any travel, it's important to stay aware of your surroundings and it's always smart to avoid isolated areas, especially at night. Overall, female travelers should feel comfortable exploring and enjoying the city.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Beziers generally experiences low levels of petty crimes such as pickpocketing and bag snatching. However, as it would be in any city, it is always wise to remain watchful of one's belongings especially in crowded places like markets, public transport, and touristy spots. To a great extent, locals are friendly and rather helpful towards tourists, creating an overall safe environment. Nonetheless, practicing personal safety measures is highly advised during your visit.

Anna

Beziers is a fairly safe city, with a lot of things to see and visit, but it is true that at night I am often afraid of being attacked, even if it has never happened to me in my city. Maybe it is because there is often no one on the streets late at night, and like most women I do not feel very safe. Public transport is generally safe, I have never had any problems or fears on a city bus.
