This is a deeply peaceful region, home to genuinely kind people. I hitchhiked between villages and towns here, and everything felt completely safe and smooth. It was so easy to connect with locals on the streets and in cafes—they’re incredibly open and warm-spirited. Most are farmers or artists who’ve left big cities behind in search of a quiet, secluded life in a picturesque place.
