Angers is a very student-oriented city; there are often a lot of people in the streets at night in the center, which is reassuring. When you move away from the center, you might feel more alert, but nothing has ever happened to me. If you can, avoid the area around the train station at night.

Angers is a wonderful, dynamic city. More than a third of its inhabitants are students. As far as security is concerned, I've had 2/3 unfortunate incidents, but nothing serious. In the evening, there's no problem going out and returning home alone. Sometimes, people even offer to walk a little way to make you feel safer.
Posted: August 7, 2025Little town, globally safe even at night. Went home pretty much drunk a few times by walking and using the night bus and never had a problem. A few problems around the train station, many homeless (avoid this place by night if possible).

Hi there, I'm a French-German 32 y.o. (cis pan) I do live on the countryside, in a lovely area called Anjou, loaded with history (lots of old castels of the Loire area). I love hiking, reading, learning new things and meeting new people. I work as a freelance (PSM), and am pretty flexible on schedule 🌞

Bonjour les filles ! French gourmet and passionate traveler over here, a bit crazy on the side 😝. I study langages and love many many things, including gastronomy, cinema, running, laughing and a good discussion ! I am very curious, interested in everything and don't like boring people that say "that's cringe". Bring your good vibe, however weird 🌈 If you have questions about my home regions (around Angers and Tours), id love to answer them !! I am a proud "angevine" and "tourangelle"😉 (beautiful regions of french wine and castles 🏰)
