We were a group of 5 women. We feel safe anytime. We walked during the day to visit and during the night to find a restaurant. We parked the rentalcar in parking underground and we never feel unsafe. We rented a car to visit around the city. It's a realy beautiful country, I warmly recomend !

I went to Zagreb twice and spent most time alone. I felt very safe in the city centre. There are many interesting museums and parks to visit. I loved the botanical garden, cat cafe and museum of broken relationships. I suggest eating at HERITAGE. It's a bit expensive and crowded but it's amazing. The public transport is very easy and works at night as well. Overall a good place to travel solo and friendly to meeting people.
Posted: April 27, 2024My first solo trip was to Zagreb. The city is very walkable and clean, and everything touristy is within a short distance. It has a great choice of museums, from the Chocolate Museum to the Museum of Broken Relationships (which turned out to be my favorite). Also stunning architecture. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe.

I was in zagreb for 2 days. It was pretty and there's a selection of things to do. If you like cats, there's a cat caffee (reasonably priced), a zoo and plenty of parks. Sadly a lot of the architectural buildings are being renovated and have been for 3 years but they are still nice to go see just a lot of scaffolding. There's an amazing food place called Kaptolska Klet the staff are wonderful :))
Posted: September 23, 2023Experienced: August, 2023Zagreb is underrated, it's not focused on tourism and it's really worth visiting. During my stay, I did a really interesting walk, the food was affordable and delicious, and I felt very safe. Last year, I traveled solo through Croatia for 2 weeks.
Posted: August 1, 2023People often say that they didn't like Zagreb, but I personally enjoy this city. It is quite different from the coastal areas, but I still recommend spending a whole day and night there. I also noticed that the prices in Zagreb are much more affordable compared to the coast.
Posted: May 15, 2023People are nice and kind, loved the museums! Still i have time to left to see other things, but its ok until now :)

65% safe for women, 40% safe for LGBTQIA+ members. I would stay off of suburubs, especially on the east side of the town. Sometimes local pubs have 40+ men day drinking and sexually harrasing. Generally, woman's place is in the kitchen, mostly catholic country, we have ultra wing parties who tried to pass on the law of marriage = one man+one woman. We also have very prominent kneelers at the main square who are kneeling weekly against abortion.
Posted: October 18, 2024Overall very safe, but people taking public transport should be aware of occasional pickpocketers. Catcalling exists here, but it’s easily dealt with by just ignoring such people. As long as you keep your wits about you, you shouldn’t worry about being mugged, drugged, etc
