It's safe during the day mostly but there is some teenagers robbing all the time. I didn't have a bad experience myself, just people asking for ciharettes and beer all the time, the broke my car wimdow too and brake into my house but didn't steal anything.

I have lived in Alice Springs for over 6 years. It is a place that is an incredible mix of people and has a lot to offer. It is however pretty segregated as a whole. There is ongoing colonisation with the widespread trauma, disenfranchisement and entrenched poverty that results. Also the media sensationalises and scapegoats without looking deeper and putting blame where it is due. You need to be street wise in Alice Springs, not go out walking after dark on your own. Alice Springs CA s a scenically pretty town but there is a fair bit of crime from the local youths. Every night there are crowds of locals in the streets and there aren't even any bars open that late
