My solo trip to Porto was amazing overall. The city center feels very safe and welcoming, especially during the day. I was a bit uneasy returning to my apartment in the evenings because the street was quiet and not very crowded. The public transport system is a little confusing: the price depends on how many zones you cross, and the last ticket you bought is automatically deducted from your card, not the one that best fits your route. I’d recommend researching the transport system in advance...
