About me

Hi lovely ladies, I'm a girl at the end of her 20s who independently moved to Germany for studies and work when I was 18 and have survived on my own ever since (yay!). I'm striving to learn new things and be better to myself and others everyday, travel as much as possible, enjoy the small things in life and be happy from within. My life took some turns last year and I'm currently at a crossroad and embracing the state of the unknown! This year I promised myself to take more chances, be adventurous, get out of my comfort zone more, travel solo and meet new lovely people on the way :)

About me

Hey everyone ✨ My name is Melodi but you can call me Mel. I am originally from Germany, but I moved to England in 2022 for my bachelor's degree. That's why I usually switch between countries. During term time, I live in England, and during the vacation period, I am back home in Germany 😄 I am very extroverted and pretty much down for whatever. I’ve traveled to over 20 countries so far, and I like to think of myself as a traveler, not a tourist. This summer, I am planning to travel to the Balkans (specifically Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia). I’d love to find a travel buddy, so if anyone’s interested in joining me, just hit me up! Let’s travel the world together and make some good memories ✈️🤩 Also, I live in Frankfurt, Germany. If anyone needs a place to stay, I would love to host you.

About me

Hi, I‘m Elena (Ele for my friends)! I‘m 19 years old and am exited to start exploring the world. I grew up couchsurfing on pretty much every vacation I went on with my dad, and want to do it myself now! I love meeting new people, getting to know places through their eyes and showing them around where I live. Yes, I want to try learning your language (currently focusing on french and spanish, definitely want to learn arabic in the future), try your favorite sport, learn a new recipe or go partying with you! I’m gonna start studying Political Science Frankfurt next year, and will hopefully have my own place by then. For now, I’m living with my Mom, but she’s a great host too!

About me

I’m Simona and I’m 30 years old - I was born and raised in Frankfurt. I have Italian roots and speak 3 languages (German, englisch and Italian ). I work as an educator with kids from 3-10 years old. I love travelling the world and meet new people and their culture. Back home I meet my friends and spend time with them by going out, having a game night at home, watching movies or just have nice talks! I am open, honest and humorous, always up for any kind of fun. I love deep, meaningful conversations just as much as lighthearted chats about the small, mundane things in life. I am reflective, creative and curious about the world – traveling is just as much a part of me as enjoying sunrises and sunsets, the ocean and good music. Sometimes active and full of energy, other times relaxed and laid-back – a colorful mix that never gets boring.

Group travel

Travelled here with a group of 6 (3 girls, 3 boys). The city centre was relatively safe with tourists and local police. We stayed near the train station (Frankfurt Hbf) which wasn’t a very safe atmosphere. A lot of unfriendly faces around and if I wasn’t travelling with my guy friends I would’ve felt very uncomfortable. Lots of drug activity, lots of staring (at us girls) and multiple times we were approached by dodgy men. Wouldn’t walk around the train station area alone. The city was a different experience entirely, felt safe and secure and would walk alone.

Solo travel

I definitely felt safe in this city. I usually travelled from oberursel to east of the city to catch some dance classes at the Honbu in Enkiem then go to the Gym FITSEVENELEVEN in the city I’d often leave the gym at 11PM and get home past 12PM and find that the journey to and from I felt completely safe The food was usually price I found the quality of the take out of fast wood was incredible, fresh and always made with love, eating healthy is important to me so knowing there’s always those options was so helpful I did my trip quite affordable and usually cooked at home and rarely ate out but when I did it was awesome I kept my money for activities like dancing and gym especially in the colder months when it’s snowing and little day light there isn’t much to do outside, I find when you do activities you love it’s easy to make friends and meet people which is what I tried to do. I avoided bars, clubs etc as I’m not a social drinker so I can’t comment on these spaces I particularly enjoyed bad Homburg it’s a neat and tidy area that’s very safe and a bunch of nice cafes and restaurants My favourite spot is Bella gelato italiano this spot had a choke hold on me 😭🤣 i think I’ve had the ricotta, pistachio and pomegranate gelato 10 times since being here. I’d highly recommend 🙏🏽 I’m from Australia so I’m used to warm weather, coastal living and connecting with nature. To be honest it was very difficult to stay in Germany as I’m not a city girl and when it’s to cold to be out in nature I’m not a fan, the weather is warming up and I can definitely see that the place is more beautiful going into spring and people are happier. Overall Germans don’t seem to be very joyful people that’s my only criticism
