Hey everyone ✨ My name is Melodi but you can call me Mel. I am originally from Germany, but I moved to England in 2022 for my bachelor's degree. That's why I usually switch between countries. During term time, I live in England, and during the vacation period, I am back home in Germany 😄 I am very extroverted and pretty much down for whatever. I’ve traveled to over 20 countries so far, and I like to think of myself as a traveler, not a tourist. This summer, I am planning to travel to the Balkans (specifically Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia). I’d love to find a travel buddy, so if anyone’s interested in joining me, just hit me up! Let’s travel the world together and make some good memories ✈️🤩 Also, I live in Frankfurt, Germany. If anyone needs a place to stay, I would love to host you.

Travelled here with a group of 6 (3 girls, 3 boys). The city centre was relatively safe with tourists and local police. We stayed near the train station (Frankfurt Hbf) which wasn’t a very safe atmosphere. A lot of unfriendly faces around and if I wasn’t travelling with my guy friends I would’ve felt very uncomfortable. Lots of drug activity, lots of staring (at us girls) and multiple times we were approached by dodgy men. Wouldn’t walk around the train station area alone. The city was a different experience entirely, felt safe and secure and would walk alone.

I definitely felt safe in this city. I usually travelled from oberursel to east of the city to catch some dance classes at the Honbu in Enkiem then go to the Gym FITSEVENELEVEN in the city I’d often leave the gym at 11PM and get home past 12PM and find that the journey to and from I felt completely safe The food was usually price I found the quality of the take out of fast wood was incredible, fresh and always made with love, eating healthy is important to me so knowing there’s always those options was so helpful I did my trip quite affordable and usually cooked at home and rarely ate out but when I did it was awesome I kept my money for activities like dancing and gym especially in the colder months when it’s snowing and little day light there isn’t much to do outside, I find when you do activities you love it’s easy to make friends and meet people which is what I tried to do. I avoided bars, clubs etc as I’m not a social drinker so I can’t comment on these spaces I particularly enjoyed bad Homburg it’s a neat and tidy area that’s very safe and a bunch of nice cafes and restaurants My favourite spot is Bella gelato italiano this spot had a choke hold on me 😭🤣 i think I’ve had the ricotta, pistachio and pomegranate gelato 10 times since being here. I’d highly recommend 🙏🏽 I’m from Australia so I’m used to warm weather, coastal living and connecting with nature. To be honest it was very difficult to stay in Germany as I’m not a city girl and when it’s to cold to be out in nature I’m not a fan, the weather is warming up and I can definitely see that the place is more beautiful going into spring and people are happier. Overall Germans don’t seem to be very joyful people that’s my only criticism
