Hi, I'm Joy 🌞 Born in Germany, lived in Ukraine, travelled through Asia, currently based in Portugal 💕 I love hiking, swimming, crocheting, cooking international food, teaching languages and building sandcastles 🏄🧚 I smile a lot, dance around, can even start singing Ukrainian folk songs at random - if you don't mind, of course ;) My own space and time alone is an important part of my daily routine. But I'll be the first to drag you to a live music event or to some hidden gem in the nature I've just discovered! 🌅 Being with me is super easy, as I avoid stress and am an advocate of direct communication 😎 So let's have a deep conversation or just hang out watching the sunset! :)

Is Heidelberg safe for women?

I think Heidelberg is a pretty safe city, as a woman I feel quite secure there. Many young people, who help each other, mostly students who will take you in their group if you are alone and feel unsafe.
Posted: September 3, 2025I came here on my own and I live here on my own. Most of the time I feel very safe. I love this city and the few times I felt unsafe was when I was walking past homeless people. But I think the homeless rate is lower than in other cities and I think it is a very safe city.

I’ve been living in Heidelberg for just about a year now, and from the very beginning, I had the feeling that this city is incredibly safe. There’s hardly any crime, and even when using public transport, you always feel comfortable and secure. People here are generally very open and friendly – if you ever need help, you can be sure someone will offer it without hesitation.
Posted: July 7, 2025Heidelberg is a student city, since we have a big university here, meaning there are a lot of very cool young people :) also it’s quite touristy, because of the popular old town and its castle. from my experience i would say it’s a pretty safe city, but of course you are never completely safe from some questionable people (men🤨😂)
