Michelle
Vancouver
I'm Michelle, a Brazilian-Canadian living in Vancouver with my husband since 2016. I used to work in finance, but lately, I've been trying to rediscover myself after feeling a bit lost this past year. I'm hoping to move to a sunnier place as soon as I can, but since that's not possible right now, I'm planning to take a month off to travel solo, explore new countries, and make some new friends.

Vancouver
I am a Taiwanese-Canadian woman in my late 20s. I adore solo travelling and make sure to do at least 1 solo trip every year. This year, I will be in Porto, Lisbon, Berlin, and Munich. I love to dance, climb, swim, read, camp, hike, do yoga, write, game, and wander. I’m told I am a social chameleon and that I get along with pretty much everyone! Come love life with me :)

Hi, I'm Alex. I love to travel. I love my dog. And one day I'd like to travel with my dog and see more of the world together. Currently living in Vancouver but might be moving to Europe by the end of the year.
Different parts of Vancouver have different levels of safety. Downtown (not including the west end), the downtown east side, gastown, and north grandview woodlands are a bit sketchy. I would not travel with visible valuables or even especially dressy clothes in these areas if alone after dark. Car break ins are the most likely. Next most likely is being yelled at by someone who is intoxicated. Some women who use public transit regularly talk about being followed in more densely populated areas. The rest of the city is pretty safe.

Avoid the downtown east side especially at night. Otherwise the city is lovely and very safe! I have no issues being alone at night and I live right by downtown. People are willing to help and most people leave you alone. Use basic common sense and be aware of your surroundings, as you would anywhere.
