Kosice is a small town with great young spirit, however it might be bit boring in a night. There are some homeless people that might be scary and start talking to you, but you can easily just walk away from them. About public transport, I personally felt very safe using it. Tip: if you don’t feel safe in a transport just sit in front of the bus/trolley.

I feel usually safe during the day and in the evenings. At night I usually take a taxi. It can be pretty vacant and calm during the week in the city center, at the end of the week it’s moderately lively, mostly with young people.
Posted: October 16, 2024I love Košice, but there are some dark places. If you are not local or with someone that knows the town very well, I would not recommend exploring side streets, because a lot of time u can meet there junkies or just some very weird people. The city is known for its beautiful square but also for that there are a lot of junkies. But otherwise it is safe to hang out on the main street and other popular places.

I’m a passionate language learner, salsa dancer, and student with a drive for independence and self-improvement. Fluent in English, I’m working toward C2-level mastery while also learning Spanish and Portuguese. I dance salsa and bachata as both a passion and a refuge, and I’m now challenging myself with samba.
