Is Kosice Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I love Košice, but there are some dark places. If you are not local or with someone that knows the town very well, I would not recommend exploring side streets, because a lot of time u can meet there junkies or just some very weird people. The city is known for its beautiful square but also for that there are a lot of junkies. But otherwise it is safe to hang out on the main street and other popular places.

There are quite a few Roma communities in Košice, including some from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. However from my experience the city is generally very safe. Occasionally someone might approach u or try to start a conversation, but I’ve never found it particularly threatening. Overall, life here is peaceful, and I feel comfortable living in the city

Košice is safe, but there are a few people at the train station who may talk to you if you give them a cigarette or some money, but they will never hurt you. Otherwise, nothing dangerous is happening anywhere.

I will say this city is pretty safe if don't make trable at your own. Obviously it's more dangerous at night, but at my experience there are literally no one at night in this city. I don't had any serious and unsafe situations yet

pretty safe city never nothing personally happened to me. i live here since i was 14 years old. i used to go out at night alone and it was either luck or just sadety of the city but never nothing happened

Overall, the city is very safe, mostly in city center where all the touristy things are. Everything is walkable distance, I often walk during night as solo female also to the areas that are more far from the city center or just going for walks and it's really safe!

I would say that Kosice is a safe city overall but you have to be careful near train station and stations of public transport because there can be a few weird people looking at women - but not always, just sometimes. But overall I would say that Kosice is a safe city.
