Overall, the city is safe. But after dark you should use your discerment and I would recommend not to wear your headphones if you are walking alone. There is an issue with homeless people or drug addicts who will try to harass you, but you can avoid them easily if you are a little bit careful.
Posted: August 14, 2025Safe for solo traveling ladies. I live here for 8 years I do not have one single bad experience in public transfer, on the street or in public places. It is a small welcoming capital city for all the girls/genders/people
Posted: August 12, 2025Bratislava is overall safe but there are some places like Vrakuňa, Dubrávka or Trnávka that i dont recommend to visit. Walking alone at night gets me worries but its not as bad as in other countries. Stay safe :)
Posted: June 12, 2025I think of it as a very calm city. There may be some pickpockets in very crowded areas. The locals seem very calm and helpful. The places that are a bit more sketchy are on the outskirts of the city but that is usually the case for most capitals. Attention is needed when crossing the street but again it depends a lot on the area you’re visiting. The usual tourist attractions places are very safe and clean.

it's one of the safest cities in Europe, I worked at the souvenir store, and didn't have any worries leaving from work at 21:00, could most safely walk home or get a bus and go without worrying I'm always going in earphones and don't worry about being robbed

A small city, good for a city break. One day was enough for me to see the sights. In my opinion, it's safe, but at stations, stops, and on buses, I was sometimes approached by homeless people. When they heard I didn't speak their language, they left me alone. Great local wine.
