I love Košice, but there are some dark places. If you are not local or with someone that knows the town very well, I would not recommend exploring side streets, because a lot of time u can meet there junkies or just some very weird people. The city is known for its beautiful square but also for that there are a lot of junkies. But otherwise it is safe to hang out on the main street and other popular places.
Posted: December 24, 2024Experienced: January, 2023Kosice is a small town with great young spirit, however it might be bit boring in a night. There are some homeless people that might be scary and start talking to you, but you can easily just walk away from them. About public transport, I personally felt very safe using it. Tip: if you don’t feel safe in a transport just sit in front of the bus/trolley.

I feel usually safe during the day and in the evenings. At night I usually take a taxi. It can be pretty vacant and calm during the week in the city center, at the end of the week it’s moderately lively, mostly with young people.

I’m a passionate language learner, salsa dancer, and student with a drive for independence and self-improvement. Fluent in English, I’m working toward C2-level mastery while also learning Spanish and Portuguese. I dance salsa and bachata as both a passion and a refuge, and I’m now challenging myself with samba. I’m always looking for ways to grow—whether through studying psychology, earning online, or creating engaging content about science and motivation. My goal is to build a life that blends intellect, creativity, and financial freedom while constantly evolving into the best version of myself.
