Is Angra safe for women?

On the island, it's a small town, where crime levels are very low, there is no anonimity so social pressure does it job well to keep things civil. I've lost things to come back to them at the same spot hours later. I've had a couple of unpleasent experiences with men over the years: intense stares, catcalling and jokes. Overall I can say people are well intentioned and I feel very safe
