How safe is Portugal?

Porto

I’d say Porto is pretty safe. I’ve never had to worry about my things being stolen or that anything would happen to me, even as a woman walking at night. You could literally drop something on the table or on the floor and when you go back it’s very likely that it’d still be where you left it, and if it’s not there then it’s probably because someone helped take it to the nearest lost and found or to the police station. An additional upside is that the locals are really nice!

Lisbon

Lisbon is a really welcoming and safe city, especially for women traveling alone. I’ve been living here for a while, and I can honestly say it’s a peaceful place where I feel comfortable walking around, even at night. The city is full of charm. You can take the old trams, chill by the river in Belém, or just enjoy a coffee and a pastel de nata at a local café. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the weather is usually sunny and warm. Public transport is easy to use and well-connected, so it’s simple to get around. There are also lots of cool spots to explore, and it’s easy to meet other travelers or locals if you want company. For me, Lisbon feels like home — it’s safe, beautiful, and has a little bit of everything. If you're planning to visit and need tips or a friendly face, I’d be happy to help or even explore the city with you!

Portugal

It’s calm and peaceful, at least for me. I’ve always lived in quiet cities and I’ve never had problems with security. A place with funny and receptive people, just be caref you integrate into the local culture and don’t impose yours.

Lisbon

Lisbon is one of the safest places to live in Europe! I never locked my house, at the beach I would just leave my stuff and go swimming, I fell safe walking anywhere but I would avoid Martim Moniz area if you're alone.

Is Portugal worth visiting?

Braga, Solo travel

The main attractions in Braga were pretty accessible by foot, it’s not exactly a big city. The environment was super clean, the people were friendly, I felt very safe and comfortable moving around on my own, and it was a pretty nice city to walk around.
