It's a very safe place, everyone knows each other here and the crime rates are low, I'd say the biggest problem is drug use here but no one will bother you. People are very friendly and easygoing, if something happens you can ask for help and people will do their best to help you.
Posted: June 19, 2025During the day and in busy streets in the night, generally its a safe place. Keep your phones well hidden in busy hours since there's a good amount of people who will try to steal it. Transports have cameras so generally you are good!
Posted: June 19, 2025Porto is very safe city, there are some places where better not to go alone as girl but this places are more dangerous just at night. I’m living here for 2 years and haven’t expected any dangerous situation

Porto is a really safe city, I think these days it’s a getting a bit more dangerous and there’s some areas I would be wary of walking alone at night, however, as long as you’re aware of your surroundings, it’s all good. I’ve lived here for 3 years and have never been assaulted / robbed / harassed on the streets in any way. Cat callers exist though

Lisbon is very safe, but the amount of tourists there make it feel like you might be targeted. On the flip side, because there are always so many people, it generally feels quite secure. I wouldn’t wear lots of jewelry or headphones at night, walking alone, but other than that, you should be fine.
Posted: June 4, 2025Porto it’s relatively safe but it’s better to avoid walking alone at night, and there are some areas that can be sketchy like next to campo 24 de agosto metro station. I never feel unsafe walking around at the day time but at night it’s better to be careful

• Safe? Yes • Boring? Absolutely. Faro is good for a beach and leisurely holiday. • Cheap? I think so • is it worth visiting? not sure • If you want to swim in the ocean and it's cheaper than Madeira, then Faro is for you.

Beautiful city with lots to see and do, though just wandering around is already very nice. I took all precautions and was very prepared for pickpockets etc. so was pretty relaxed. Streets in more popular downtown areas felt very safe at night
