How safe is Portugal?

Oeiras

In general in very safe. The public transportation is sh*tty so you might need to get an uber / bolt or taxi - and that's not 100% safe. I've faced some disturbing interactions with drivers, but usually they back off when I tell them I'm married.

Lisbon

I think the center is super safe! I use public transportation day and night and nothing has ever happened. I walk alone everywhere. At night, maybe not in some specific areas like anjos and intendente. Also don't go at night to suburban areas far from the center like Reboleira and Amadora, but that's a long way from the city itself. I usually just enjoy night outs with friends and if it's too crowded maybe just mind your things not to be the target of pickpockets, but that's just a recommendation - I've never been robbed!, and I go out partying at night a lot.

Praia Da Vitoria

It's a very safe place, everyone knows each other here and the crime rates are low, I'd say the biggest problem is drug use here but no one will bother you. People are very friendly and easygoing, if something happens you can ask for help and people will do their best to help you.

Porto

During the day and in busy streets in the night, generally its a safe place. Keep your phones well hidden in busy hours since there's a good amount of people who will try to steal it. Transports have cameras so generally you are good!

Porto

Porto is very safe city, there are some places where better not to go alone as girl but this places are more dangerous just at night. I’m living here for 2 years and haven’t expected any dangerous situation

Porto

Porto is a really safe city, I think these days it’s a getting a bit more dangerous and there’s some areas I would be wary of walking alone at night, however, as long as you’re aware of your surroundings, it’s all good. I’ve lived here for 3 years and have never been assaulted / robbed / harassed on the streets in any way. Cat callers exist though

Lisbon, Solo travel

I fell in love with Portugal! Even though I prefer Porto, I still admit that Lisbon is wonderful! Love this city! Sincerely 💔 that's what i want to say: 1. the best ramen in my life: Panda Cantina (https://www.instagram.com/pandacantina?igsh=MWtleDNrcXljYnpmcw==); 2. buy local landmark azulejo tiles as a souvenir: Cortiço & Netos; 3. Surfing 🏄: Cascais (the city is near Lisboa) and Nazare (In November you can see the biggest waves in the world here); 4. Cabo da Roca (is a cape which forms the westernmost point of the Sintra Mountain Range, of mainland Portugal, of continental Europe, and of the Eurasian landmass. Once upon a time people called this place the end of the world. The sunset there is amazing. The photos with me were taken in this very place); 5. Pastel de nata + port wine = something you must try. Lisbon is Home of Pastel de Nata. Porto is home of port wine. The real Portuguese combo!

Continental Portugal, Solo travel

I visited Porto, Lisbon, Sesimbra and the Algarve. Not enough time. So safe as solo traveler. Easy to drive. Kindest people ever. I loved it. I want yo go again. I stayed at Marriotts to earn or redeem. The W Algarve was my favorite Marriott ever.
