It was mostly safe I stayed for 14 days at a kind of rental, was like 800 Food was really great, especially seafood. The city is very charming and I recommend exploring as much as you can And visiting Sintra is a must I loved ice cream at Santını

I feel safe in Lisbon when walking around during daytime, It is a lovely city with lovely people. When going out at night, I would take some caution: walk busier or light up streets home or take a cab, watch my drinks. I went home by myself in late evenings when I lived in Lisbon years ago and felt safe most of the time. This time I was travelling with my child, so no late evenings and overall very safe feeling.
Posted: November 4, 2025Cities I did, In this order: Faro, Lagos, sagres, Lisboa (just for a sleep did not visit) cascais Faro: amazing, I arrived the weekend of the yearly faro festival. Streets were blocked and there were stages everywhere. Felt safe although I heard stories from locals the next day saying that it can be dangerous at night and to be careful. Lagos: beautiful town and beaches . However lots of tourists even in September. Lots of hostels Sagres: incredible. Not a whole lot to do apart from the castle and the beaches. So not crowded by tourists. Best if you have a car so you can drive to nearby beaches as there is really good surf. Otherwise there are walkable beaches, 3 bars in the town all next to each other. Good techno djs that weekend. Cascais: same, in the city quite touristy but is bigger so not as noticeable. Good surf!!!!! Amazing beaches and cliffs if you have a car and can go outside of the city.
Posted: November 1, 2025I feel very safe in the island. We stay in Ponta Delgada and rent a car to enjoy the whole island. Public transport is great only in the capital city (ponta Delgada). The Azores are the whole experience and I will recommended it for the rest of my live. I must go there for the others islands 😍

I never felt unsafe during my whole life but the past few months, I would say that being a girl in one of the most interesting countries to visit is ok to be able to enjoy life. Even though daytime is the best way to enjoy, I don't think going out at night alone is the best way, I believe every girl should be with someone to at least feel safe. Be safe and never, ever say yes to the first person who appears.

I feel really safe than I walk alone at night in campo pequeno or in the downtown. It is always better to keep your belongings with you than u are in metro or in some touristic places , but Lisbon is still quite safe

Braganca is small city, I'm here just for Erasmus, so it's hard to say, but I have never experienced something scary or dangerous for me. Men on the parties usually tries to hit on you, but there's no problem with saying no. There's a lot of students here, because of IPB politechnice.

For me, Aveiro is very safe and I personally never experienced any bad or dangerous experience, but of course, no place is perfect, be cautious is always preferable. You simply need to use the same security measures that you'd take in your city.
Posted: September 29, 2025Very relax town, even wild camping feels very safe. Fisherman trail in the area brings lots if people in the summer that wild camping. But in general it is a pretty safe area. Just the usual surf instructors that will always look for girls to o sleep around…
