Lisbon

I feel like Lisbon is a city that’s overall safe. We should always watch out for our bags/ phone, cause there are surely a lot of pickpockets. Portuguese people are extremely friendly and they will welcome you very well - usually with no second intentions!! As a woman, I feel safer here than in my home country ( Brazil ) although when people learn that I’m not Portuguese I feel a switch on their in their intentions/ actions. However, this is definitely better here than in the rest of Europe.

Esposende

Is very safe to walk alone and overall is a place a woman can be alone. I never had any issue but like all the places we can’t assure that never will happen something. There is also a clear difference between the Winter and Summer. In the Winter is more quiet and the summer is a lot of more people

Porto

Generally safe, better to always have someone by your side and stay away from big groups of people, specially at night time. The majority of public places are fairly safe and quiet, however I wouldn’t walk alone in specific neighbourhoods, like Bairro do Aleixo.

Porto

Porto is like 'very touristic city' but you feel safety. People respekt tourists. Maybe not areas of dangerous district but in downtown is super safety. I never had bad, dangerous situation im downtown.

Praia da Rocha

Amazing place but for the last couple of years the crime rare skyrocket specially during summer There's a lot of drunk people at night, because of all the bars, sometimes might end up in fights. I'm a local, I grew up here and I don't hang in praia da rocha till late anymore.

Lisbon, Solo travel

I didn’t really feel safe walking around alone outside at night, because some man were catcalling really insistently and I‘ve been molested in the hostel by a drunk guy as well. I‘m living in Barcelona where you get catcalled a lot but I‘ve never felt it that persistent and creepy like in Lisbon. During the day there is no problem and the architecture and ambience in the city is really nice! I really love the graffitis and the alternative touch that you experience there, especially in Portugal
