Trondheim is very safe. There is a lot of students and young people here, which makes it feel even more safe. I’m never worried about getting robbed and people keep to them selves. It’s not scary to walk home at night.

Its pretty safe, its always people outside and light on the streets. You don’t see and experience crime you mostly just hear about it. People are very friendly and nice.
Posted: October 2, 2024Its really safe!! you just have to be careful of what street you are in and follow your gut feeling. the public transport is really safe. and at night there are always police officers and bodyguards that are there to help and protect.

I always feel very safe in Trondheim! There are one neighborhood called Buran/Lademoen that could be a little bit sketchy but I am rarely there. At daytime, it's no problem but maybe stay away from there at night time. Don't think anything bad would happen but there could be some people on drugs there.

Overall a very safe city, but can experience harassment when walking alone during the night in the city center. It’s only when walking home at night I have felt unsafe, so it’s nice during the day. Would recommend to not walk alone!
Posted: June 2, 2024The city is generally safe, but every now and then there are people who make me feel unsafe, like in any other town. I would recommend being together with others at night, just in case. It is usually a very pleasant city!

I have been living in Trondheim since 4 months. I came here for 6 months as an exchange student from Nepal. I like the summer here. It is all over green and sunny most of the hour in a day. The nature here is very nice, you can enjoy the lake, forest, river, and the city.
Posted: May 23, 2024Experienced: December, 2023Trondheim will always be my second home, but even if i wasn't biased i would still recommend this lovely place! The cozy yet lively town provides you with both a nice stroll through beautiful streets with houses coloured in all the rainbows colors. But if you want the night life, there is certainly no problem with that either! Trondheim is beautiful, scenery, food, hikes.. Just lovely!

Hey. Im currently doing a gap year, before starting university in august. I’m traveling through south-east Asia in the spring of 2025, starting in Bangkok in February and flying from Singapore in April. In April I’ll be traveling around Japan, mostly Tokyo, before staying in Shanghai the first week of may. Would love to meet some new friends along the way:)
