It’s a decent town with a beautiful location on the South East coast of Norway. It’s beautiful in the summer, perfect spot if you want to experience Stavernfestivalen. There are lots of nature tracks by the water and forest, lots of activities and events during the summer and lots tourist. You’ve got everything you need close by, the city is 1.5 hours from Oslo with train, have a boat to Sweden (Strømstad) or to Denmark in Larvik. Several local beaches and is very safe for solo travelers and families. There’s also a lot history related to the 2nd WW and whale fishing too.
Posted: June 16, 2025I have lived here most of my life and have never been scared to walk outside or experienced the fear of being robbed. I think Sandefjord is a very safe city where you will feel safe and welcome, and if you ever is in need just ask however looks kind for help and you will get it!
Posted: December 29, 2024In general it’s a very safe place, when walking in the dark I’m more worried about visibility for cars than anything else. I have never personally felt unsafe or in danger when walking around. Do follow come sense when going out at night though, especially when drinking.
