I think Fredrikstad is a safe city to be in. Norway generally is safe. Fredrikstad is not a big city, and not very touristy. People mind their own businesses, and will not bother you. I would say it’s safer than for example the bigger city Oslo.
Posted: February 1, 2025Fredrikstad is a city in the east of Norway. The population is about 80k people. It's a very nice town where you can visit the old town wich is about 450 years old. We have a ferry that can transport you through our town. As a young woman I feel very safe walking alone both at day time and at night. As in every city there are a few places you should be a bit weary about but they are quite far out of the central city.but overall it is very safe
