In my opinion Oslo is pretty safe for people of any color or orientation. As a woman l feel safe here both at day and at night, because of good street lighting systems in any areas in the town. The crime rate is also pleasantly low.

Norway is generally super safe! At night in the center, there might be some places to be careful of, on the bright side there are a lot of safe areas! You can always find helpful locals too! You gotta be generally careful!
Posted: February 1, 2025I feel comfortable travelling home alone at night after school or clubbing. Public transportation is safe for everyone and as a woman I have never been harassed or assaulted on public transportation in Oslo. It is very safe to walk alone in the day time and safe to walk in the night if you walk on the sidewalks where there is light. Crime is more likely to occur if the people already know each other or are in a gang, than it is likely to happen to strangers.

Oslo is very safe. As in most cities, there might be some areas to avoid more during the night, but overall it is unlikely that anything will happen to you. In general, you can unfortunately not be 100% safe anywhere a woman, but Oslo is not a city to be worried about.
Posted: January 23, 2025Oslo is very safe, i've lived here in 9 years and never experienced any threats. But, i would recommend to stay away some parts of Oslo. Some areas have more of the smaller crimes like robbery. But allround is very safe and its a lot of people in the streets when its weekend
Posted: January 19, 2025Oslo is very safe. I have never had a bad experience here. There are always security-people or police easily available in big crowds or on events. Most people only care about their own business, but are also willing to help with directions ect.:)

Oslo is a very safe city. I’ve lived here my whole life and i am completely fine being outside alone at night and have been many times. My home has never been broken into and my neighborhood is very safe. The west side of Oslo is more safe then the east side though, but it is still a very safe city. I have been cat called a few times and gotten my credit card stolen, but i’ve never heard of anyone being kidnapped, killed or r*ped etc. The public transport is great too, the buss is almost always on time and there are a lot of options to get around. You don’t even need a car to live here.

Oslo is very safe city. First,we have a lot of cameras around Oslo. Second, people here are with a different mentality. Even druggies not gonna talk to you because they are not interested in you. Thirdly, most Norwegians are very shy and don’t start conversations first.

Very safe, always feeling safe in Scandinavia. Walking home alone as a girl is not a problem, taxis are very expensive but people here are kind. There are some areas in the city with more drugs where I wouldn’t want to walk alone at 4 in the morning, but still sure it would be safe.
Posted: December 25, 2024Oslo is a safe town. As the rest of Norway, the most crime you encounter is drug abuse. People are usually friendly, but reserved, as the culture entails. The public transport is quite good and effective, but I recommend using the Ruter and Google map so you don’t get lost.

Like everything in Norway, Oslo is pretty calm city, with not a lot of activities especially on winter's time, but it feels very comfortable and safe for female solo traveler. But be prepared for extreme weather and prices:)
Posted: February 14, 2025Oslo is a vibrant, modern city. I went there in January and mainly was visiting museums, parks and the new library in the city centre. I can recommend Munch museum, especially on Wednesday because it is free :)
