Oslo is very safe, i've lived here in 9 years and never experienced any threats. But, i would recommend to stay away some parts of Oslo. Some areas have more of the smaller crimes like robbery. But allround is very safe and its a lot of people in the streets when its weekend
Posted: January 19, 2025Oslo is very safe. I have never had a bad experience here. There are always security-people or police easily available in big crowds or on events. Most people only care about their own business, but are also willing to help with directions ect.:)

Oslo is a very safe city. I’ve lived here my whole life and i am completely fine being outside alone at night and have been many times. My home has never been broken into and my neighborhood is very safe. The west side of Oslo is more safe then the east side though, but it is still a very safe city. I have been cat called a few times and gotten my credit card stolen, but i’ve never heard of anyone being kidnapped, killed or r*ped etc. The public transport is great too, the buss is almost always on time and there are a lot of options to get around. You don’t even need a car to live here.

Oslo is very safe city. First,we have a lot of cameras around Oslo. Second, people here are with a different mentality. Even druggies not gonna talk to you because they are not interested in you. Thirdly, most Norwegians are very shy and don’t start conversations first.

Very safe, always feeling safe in Scandinavia. Walking home alone as a girl is not a problem, taxis are very expensive but people here are kind. There are some areas in the city with more drugs where I wouldn’t want to walk alone at 4 in the morning, but still sure it would be safe.
Posted: December 25, 2024Oslo is a safe town. As the rest of Norway, the most crime you encounter is drug abuse. People are usually friendly, but reserved, as the culture entails. The public transport is quite good and effective, but I recommend using the Ruter and Google map so you don’t get lost.

I would say Oslo is very safe. There is chrimes happening, but that’s mostly within the gang communities. As a precaution I always stay alert when walking alone, but that’s because I’m woman more than the city I’m in, because it’s a rule I have set for myself wherever I am. Oslo has a lot of police and security throughout the city center, and there’s usually people around wherever you go.
Posted: December 23, 2024Most neighborhoods are very safe also after dark. Would stay away from certain areas of downtown late at night by yourself as a woman if there are not a lot of people around. Grønland has a lot of petty crime, but generally safe during the daytime.
Posted: October 31, 2024I would say Oslo is pretty safe. Although we have experienced more crime lately, it’s mostly gang related and not a concern for others. But as a woman, you always want to take precautions no matter where you are.
Posted: October 27, 2024Safe and easygoing. A lot can be done in the city like visiting museums, walks in the neighbourhood. In summer in the middle of the city you can experience sauna by the ocean. Kayaking in the river then the ocean. Everything is close but plan ahead.

Felt safe, every thing is a bit white, it is very modern but it is very expensove so I did not go in museums. Food is also expensive but not very tasty, however, everyone is very open to culture and tourism is well installed

Italy
Super safe city, even at night. It’s quite expensive as all Scandinavia, but infrastructure and services pay off. Deichmann library and the Opera house were stunning. Cinnamon buns are a must try! Public transport is always clean and on time.
