I went to West bengal some months ago. I loved it there. But I think trains are not always very safe for girls? I was almost groped by 2 different men on the same day on the same train. So it was a nightmare. It was rush hour. I guess I should have been more careful. But I was literally sitting beside my mom and a man came and sat near me. Since my bag was on my lap it kinda provided him a cover and he moved his hands towards me which freaked me out and so I moved my bag from my lap to give other ppl a view of what he was doing and he immediately moved his hand. Hated that experience. That was the only time when I hated it there.
