Prayagraj is fairly safe during the day as it is quite crowded and always has people around but it is quiet after dark and has no night life, therefore it might not be very safe at night especially in isolated areas. The best hours to explore the city would be 6 am to 10 pm.
Posted: January 1, 2025I attended the Mahakumbh. So it was quite safe at that time. As it was the biggest Kumbh Mela in 144 years, security was quite present. Irrespective of which incidents have happened. Uttar Pradesh, in general, is unsafe. However, it was quite expensive, as all the locals wanted to grab as much business as possible due to the religious importance to religious people and otherwise, the festival was a source of business for influencers and a source of discovery for other travellers and explorers.
