It is one of the safest cities in India. People are usually nice, and not aggressive. Not always honest but not dangerous. People tend to patiently help people in need in terms of directions or recommendations. I have lived there for four years and travel there every now and then.

Very safe for women even at night... We can roam around and the place is very much live with multiple activities and yummy food options. You can find good food even at 3 am. Just avoid few areas and you are good to go

As I’m living in Ahmedabad since 5 years now. I’ve felt safe as I’m living in safe area and I’ve never been alone at night or odd times in areas those are not counted as safe. But I’ve heard that there are some areas that is dangerous for women to be alone here.
Posted: October 9, 2025Ahmedabad is probably the safest city of India. People generally respect girls here. If you are looking to travel around ahmedabad you can either take uber, ola, rapido... Or you can public transport buses , here called AMTS or BRTS. Metro is one of the most convenient option to travel as well.

I am a writer, poet and filmmaker living in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is a world heritage city, it has beautiful sunsets, delicious food and cool hangout places across the city. It's a dry state city though :)
