Aarhus is a very safe place, both at day, also by night. You can go clubbing and still be very safe, just take care like usual, but you can go out even just as a girl. It’s very easy to contact the police if anything would happen and there are always people nearby to help

Denmark, especially Aarhus, is super safe. Only place I would avoid at night is botanical garden in Aarhus. Most likely the drunks are the only one approaching you. Danish men are overall respectful and catcalling etc. isn’t in our culture. Off course thing happens but I will assure you that you likely won’t have a problem. Very Rarely women are attacked randomly and we all walk and bike everywhere. Crimes against women In Denmark are most of the times by someone they already know.
Posted: December 25, 2024I’d say that generally, it is quite safe, but If you are a person who doesn’t like when people cross your boundaries - be ready for a heated conflict. It already happened to me a few times when I tried to correct the behavior of some people in public and got beat up haha! don’t go to tilst, brabrand, viby, or åbyhøj alone during the night. it’s a hell

Aarhus, like most Danish cities, is an extremely safe place. It consists of many students but also people of all ages. When I lived closer to the city center, I would walk home from the bars. I haven’t ever felt unsafe anywhere I lived and cat-calling happens very rarely. The only thing that is not safe here is your bike, but it is what is😂

Aarhus is where I live when I'm not travelling. It's Denmark's 2nd biggest city and very safe and cozy. Everything can be reached by bike and have a compact city center. I have lived here for 3+ years and love it. Close to the sea and Forrest 🙏🏼
Posted: December 2, 2024Aarhus is a safe city for female solo travellers. It’s a student city with a lot of young people and internationals enjoying all kinds of activities and communities here. Generally Danish people are polite, open, and welcoming but may take some time to break the ice.

Aarhus is very safe to walk around at night. I live very downtown in Aarhus, and I always walk Home alone both late evening and at night/early mornings. I have in the 3 years I have lived here felt unsafe 1-2 times, and I love to go out and party alot. Aarhus is an amazing city!!!
Posted: September 4, 2024It is a very safe city, not dangerous to walk home during the night alone. You can get anywhere on your own comfortably, people are helpful and trustworthy. It is always good to be careful with very drunk people or homeless, but even the homeless are harmless and there aren't many in Denmark in general.

Aarhus is one of the safest places, I have ever lived. People literally let their babies sleep in their strollers outside in the streets during the day. 😅 I have no problem of going for a run in the darkness and in two years, I have never had any problems with anyone assaulting me in any way. The only thing that regularly gets stolen in Denmark are bikes. So if you have a good bike, make sure that you also have a good lock. 😬
Posted: August 1, 2024I lived 5 months in Aarhus, and I've never felt in danger even if I was quite often coming back home by bike in the dark alone. I was even not afraid being alone in forest or parc. The Danes put a huge importance in trust and you can feel it !
Posted: July 6, 2024It was pretty safe, it's a cute charming calm city. I recommend the deer park to the south of the city, with the beach next door it's a great walk. The museum not to be missed is the ARoS museum, a museum of contemporary and classical art visible from all over the city with its rainbow panorama. And don't forget to pass by the nice latin neighborhood.

Aarhus is a very cute city with something for everyone. It’s a very cultural city where you get a good insight into the danish everyday life. I was there during the AARHUS FESTUGE which is a week of cultural activity such as concerts and events
