I would say it's quite safe if you use your common sense. Seldom I hear anything happening in the city except for robbery in people's home, when nobody is there. I always feel safe when walking around, even when it's dark and I'm drunk.

As Denmark is known for, it is very safe. There’s not a lot of crime, and people tend to themselves. Odense being a midsize city, it is more safe than the capital, Copenhagen i would say That being said, i do occasionally experience catcalling. And living here, it’s a possibility that something could happen to you, but it doesn’t seem like it would happen to a stranger on the street. I walk alone in the night a lot. It can ofc be uncomfortable or scary at times, but a lot better than the rest of the world

You can meet calm and very nice people everywhere in this city. They are also very welcoming and helpful. Odense is much more safe than the city where I came from and I really love to live hear. The city is beautiful like a tale and I can only recommend it!
Posted: January 30, 2025I always walk alone and in My 24 heats og Living I have been uncomfortable only 3 or 4 times. And people are very helpful and nice. The city is not a party city but nice to explore and see for the family or alone
Posted: January 6, 2025Very safe city with good and easy public transportation. City Center is not too big and there's a lot of opportunities for dining out and nightlife. Have walked home alone multiple times at night without feeling unsafe:)
Posted: January 5, 2025It is pretty safe, I'm not afraid leaving my stuff and walking alone. Sometimes it is uncomfortable in sime areas of the city, but overall, it us safe. When walking late at night the only scary thing are drunk people, but I am bot very concerned about them, as I haven't been assaulted

I have been living in Odense for 1,5 year now and have never felt in danger. Everyone is kind and helpful, even the homeless people are harmless. When I had a night shift, I have been biking during early in the morning and late night, I felt completely safe eventhough the street was empty.

I'd say this city is very safe. Crime rates aren't that high in Denmark all over. Odense is the 3th biggest city in Denmark but it doesn't feel big-city. It's a cosy place with sweet shops and houses in the inner city. People are quiet and keeps to themselves which is just the Danish way. And I've never experienced men touching me without consent other than when going out at night in clubs.
Posted: December 26, 2024Overall, if you are out in town on a weekend, the chance of getting harassed by the dunk party goers is the same as anywhere else in the world. There are some neighbourhoods that are less friendly, but they are located outside of the centrum and it's residential areas, so you wouldn't go there any way. I feel safe when walking in the night. I have done it several times and have never had a problem.

Odense is overall a safe city i would say. The city has had a focus on being very family friendly and with that comes a bit of safety too. There is the chance of running in to the occasional douchebag when going out, but drinks being spiked is super rare and i dont remember hearing about for the last many years. The very few instances where i have seen women being heckled on the street or in public transportation, there is allways multiple people stepping in to help.

I’m starting a new trip soon, for the next few months, hoping to meet and connect with people, get new friends, and crash on couches occasionally🤞 I’m going down to portugal, and see where life takes me
