Aalborg i a very safe city overall. There have been some cases of kidnapping and knife violence, but most crimes are gang-related. Going to the clubs though the is a chance of getting drugged so don't leave drinks unattended. Some people drown in the harbor when they are drunk.

Overall, Aalborg is a very safe city. As long as you’re aware of your surroundings, and take care of yourself, you’re fine. There are some areas that I wouldn’t walk in by myself after dark though. Public transport is very safe.

Aalborg is a very safe city, and people are really friendly here. There’s almost always legitimate taxis you can ride, the bus stops are many, and asking for directions isn’t a problem at all! I feel very safe here, and I’m sure you will too!

Aalborg is a safe city, with well lit areas and a well-functioning, clean and frequent public transit system. The inner city is is manageable both on foot and bycicle and is bustling and populated even during late hours. At the heart of the city, there is a party street, Jomfru Ane Gade lined with pubs, clubs and restaurants, where police are often present along with a safe house and volunteers patrolling the streets and making sure everyone makes it home safe. There is generally a high level of trust and people are willing to help each other.

Aalborg is a very nice and calm city to explore in a day or two. You can enjoy the view of the harbor of go for a walk in the city center shopping, looking at the historical buildings by your own or with a guide. Of course there is some night life which cause people being drunk and loud in actions and words. If you want to party we do have Jomfru Ane Gade which is a full street of bars and clubs super cool.

Aalborg is a very quiet city, which is mostly inhabited by students because of the big university in the city. Nothing much ever happens here, and it is a good place to experience a bit of city life while feeling homey.

I have never been to a city where I have felt as safe as I do in Aalborg. The crime rate is really low and the worst thing i have experienced is getting cat called maximum 5 times and I have lived here for 7 years.
Posted: July 27, 2024It’s a very safe place as it’s a big student city and people are friendly and keep to themselves. I lost my house keys and found them weeks later. I highly recommend it as a city to study in or visit.

I am from Denmark, and currently studying a masters in Computer Science. I only have one year left, so I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In my free time, I bike a LOT, do pole dancing and heels (dancing in high stilettos), and any sort of random events that I can find around :) I love hiking, and I have hiked everywhere from Inverness in Scotland to Mont Blanc in Southern Europe. I like to just go with the flow, and see where life takes me!

Hii I am an Erasmus Mundus student and I love travelling around. I constantly move from one country to another with my program. I love festivals, media arts, volunteering and digital rights activism. I cook amazing couscous and I love hiking and discovering places. It’s a bit exhausting to move from one place to another but I’m starting to have a home in so many places around the world and I am happy to have met so many great people that I keep in touch with until now.
