How safe is Aarhus?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Aarhus is generally quite safe at night. Like any city, it's recommended to exercise reasonable caution and stay in well-lit, populated areas. Instances of violent crime are low and locals are friendly and willing to help. However, it's best to be aware of your surroundings, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Very safe

Public transportation in Aarhus has a reputation for being particularly safe. Buses, trains, and light rail services are reliable, clean, and often monitored by security personnel. Travelers rarely report incidents. It's also easy to navigate with clear signage and digital announcements are in Danish and English. People are generally respectful and helpful to tourists. Even at night, transit systems are considered fairly safe.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Aarhus is generally very safe and respectful towards women. Instances of street harassment, such as catcalling or unsolicited attention, are quite rare. The Danish culture promotes respect and equality, making it a suitable travel destination for solo female travelers. However, like any city around the world, it is encouraged to maintain standard precautions, especially during the night or in less crowded areas. Most locals are friendly and helpful, and any occasional harassment is likely to be met with disdain from bystanders.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Very low

Aarhus has a very low petty crime rate. Petty crimes like pickpocketing or bag snatching are not common. It's generally a safe city with a good law enforcement presence and a well-lit urban environment. Stay mindful of your belongings as you would when traveling to any foreign place, but overall, Aarhus presents a minimal risk for petty crimes.

Is Aarhus worth visiting?

Family travel

It was pretty safe, it's a cute charming calm city. I recommend the deer park to the south of the city, with the beach next door it's a great walk. The museum not to be missed is the ARoS museum, a museum of contemporary and classical art visible from all over the city with its rainbow panorama. And don't forget to pass by the nice latin neighborhood.

Solo travel

Aarhus is a very cute city with something for everyone. It’s a very cultural city where you get a good insight into the danish everyday life. I was there during the AARHUS FESTUGE which is a week of cultural activity such as concerts and events

Denmark, especially Aarhus, is super safe. Only place I would avoid at night is botanical garden in Aarhus. Most likely the drunks are the only one approaching you. Danish men are overall respectful and catcalling etc. isn’t in our culture. Off course thing happens but I will assure you that you likely won’t have a problem. Very Rarely women are attacked randomly and we all walk and bike everywhere. Crimes against women In Denmark are most of the times by someone they already know.

I’d say that generally, it is quite safe, but If you are a person who doesn’t like when people cross your boundaries - be ready for a heated conflict. It already happened to me a few times when I tried to correct the behavior of some people in public and got beat up haha! don’t go to tilst, brabrand, viby, or åbyhøj alone during the night. it’s a hell
