Denmark is safe. People can be busy and reserved but majority of the people are kind and very welcoming. Denmark is one one of the expensive countries in Europe but has a lot to offer. The natur, architecture, food is great.

Copenhagen is a safe city. Take your precautions about when walking alone at night as you would elsewhere. Do your research about the different areas and transport. That would be my recommendation to be safe.
Posted: February 14, 2025Copenhagen is generally a very safe city, to visit and live in. The crime rates are low, and the atmosphere is not hostile and the culture is inclusive in terms of race, gender and sexuality. The streets are well lit and the public transport runs throughout the night.
Posted: February 14, 2025Sonderborg is very safe. Kind of a small town with less than 30.000 citizens . The only time you would have to worry about safety is after dark, walking alone in areas where other people can’t be seen. And even then, I would consider it safe

Denmark is listed as one of the safest countries in the world for a good reason. I feel safe everywhere. Yes, we have crime, but it's nothing that I worry about. You have to be alert about pickpocketing, but it's nothing compared to Barcelona or Prague.

Copenhagen, and Denmark in general, is very safe both at day and night. It is very uncommon that I feel uncomfortable walking around, and the public transportation is very efficient so you can get around (and home) quickly.
Posted: February 3, 2025Copenhagen is a very nice place. People don’t care about others than themselves, but they are still ready to drink a beer and sing along to sweet Caroline at any moment. I have never felt uncomfortable or scared walking home og taking the metro home at anytime of the day. Sure there are drunk people around but most are friendly and are just saying random things.
Posted: February 3, 2025Copenhagen is a very safe city for a solo girl traveller, and you feel safe to walk around alone, even at night. It’s a city with a lot of young travellers from all over the world. To me Copenhagen is one of the safest cities in Europe.
Posted: February 2, 2025Copenhagen is very safe when walking around and you can without a doubt travel alone as a woman. I would though always be careful when walking alone at night as a woman, but I think I would be on guard no matter where in the world I was when walking alone at night as a woman. And of course a good rule, never accept drinks from strangers :)))
Posted: February 2, 2025Denmark is a very safe country, you can walk on the streets any time of the day and night, of course if you’re in Copenhagen like every other big city look after your things there can be pickpockets but I have never experienced it myself. You can also take the buses and trains and feel safe and if it’s late and you are going home from Copenhagen you can always take a Taxi if you don’t feel safe, but all over Denmark is vey safe.

Traveling to Copenhagen was my very first solo trip. To be honest I did not expect to like the city, I couldn’t be more wrong. The city is beautiful, clean and safe. I’ve met amazing people there, they were friendly and helpful.
Posted: February 19, 2025We felt very safe and the city is beautiful, I would recommend renting a bike. The only thing you have to keep in mind is the weather as it can be extremely cold this early in the year. You should also consider the prices in Copenhagen cause Copenhagen is really expensive

Hello, My name is Malou-Cheanne and I'm a 28 year old woman from Denmark. I love to travel and Explore the world but as I often don't have anyone to go with, I end up solo travelling. So far I have only been to places I know but I want to push my boundaries and Explore more places. I would also love to meet other travellers around the world, share experiences and help making solo travelling safer.
