I ask strangers to watch over my things if I have to use the bathroom, I can walk alone / use public transportation at night without the slightest fear that something may happen, you can dress however you like and still not have to worry.

There’s a region of the town that has slightly more attacks than others, but it happens maybe twice a year(which is a lot for Denmark imo). Be wary that Denmark has rapists though, but listening to true crime, I feel like it’s nothing compared to other countries 😅 I’m willing to come pick you up (by foot) or be on the phone if you’re feeling uneasy (you can never be too careful)

Denmark’s honestly one of the safest places I’ve ever been. You can walk around at night and feel completely chill and people are really friendly it’s also easy to access transport and get around. And there are nice snacks to try and cool places to visit

Sønderborg is very save in the means of walking around, although bikes sometimes get stolen. There has been an incident where a girl was stabbed, but in the 7 months I've lived here, it's the only thing I've heard about. Apparently there is also a drug scene, but as someone who is not involved in that kind of stuff, I have never actually noticed any of that kind. I walk around alone after dark very regularly, and others would also agree that they feel very safe. Of course you should maybe watch out when you walk by bars (drunk people are stupid), but I feel like that's a given wherever you arem
Posted: April 12, 2025Denmark was a great place for me! I’m always worried, especially as a woman no matter where I go. I really enjoyed Denmark and the people, I would definitely recommend as a solo traveler especially because if you speak English you can communicate with everyone

Hillerød is a very down to earth sort of place. People mind their own business. Even when you meet drunk people at late night doing weekends, it extremely rare that those people aren’t friendly or have bad intentions. I have lived here for most of my life and I have not had any problems. Just take precautions as always, and you’re totally good. 😉 Wow, that sounded like it actually is kinda dangerous, and it’s really not! Like I’m only talking about my own drunken experiences, and you always come home in one piece, even if you walk home yourself. (I have done this many times, but don’t do this at home kids!) 💀 Oh well, overall, there’s nothing to be scared for frighten of, it’s a great safe city✊🏻

Danes are very no problematic. Their culture is based on trust and you can feel it in the society. My only worry is the immigrants as sometimes they demonstrate behaviors not so typical for danish culture. But it happens only in the outskirts where there are big neighborhoods mostly inhabited by imigrants
Posted: March 25, 2025It is generally safe, but be aware of your surroundings and belongings. Someone might steal your phone or wallet, but I have personally never experienced it happening in a violent way. I have been followed by men or grabbed, but shouting loudly usually do the job.
Posted: March 24, 2025Aarhus is a very safe city with empathetic and helpful people. I am never afraid to walk in the streets at any time of the day, and public transportation is safe. Theft doesn’t happen often, and people are helpful.
Posted: March 20, 2025I have never felt that safe in any city I lived in or travelled to ! It is one of the country with the lowest level of criminality. I never heard of any risk living here, apart of having your bike stolen. However, I imagine that, like any place in the world, there is still sexual harassment and sexual abuse in some places here... But I didn't experienced it for now.

I was in Copenhagen for almost a week by myself - i felt safe but was not out late. The transportation by bus is okey, but regret not renting a bike. Go to the museums - the K1 was amazing! Did a lot of trifting and it was a little overpized and curated for my taste.

My trip to Copenhagen was amazing! I fell in love with the city from the moment I arrived! The city was very clean and beautiful. I felt safe during the night walk (around 9-10 pm) and didn’t see any weird people around the center. The weather was a bit windy but it didn’t ruin the experience I had. Highly recommended for solo travelers 🫶

Hi! I’m Yuls — solo traveler with a big heart, a love for meaningful convos, and a suitcase full of books I never finish. I’ve lived in several countries, currently in Copenhagen, recharging after a deep personal reset. I’m super respectful, calm, and independent — I don’t take up much space and always try to bring warmth, presence, or a shared meal. Right now I’m navigating a bit of a transitional phase, so I’m mostly looking for safety, kindness, and connection — even if just for a night or two. I love slow mornings, cozy spaces, working on creative projects, and hearing stories from other women doing life on their own terms.
