Aarhus

Danes are very no problematic. Their culture is based on trust and you can feel it in the society. My only worry is the immigrants as sometimes they demonstrate behaviors not so typical for danish culture. But it happens only in the outskirts where there are big neighborhoods mostly inhabited by imigrants

Copenhagen

It is generally safe, but be aware of your surroundings and belongings. Someone might steal your phone or wallet, but I have personally never experienced it happening in a violent way. I have been followed by men or grabbed, but shouting loudly usually do the job.

Aarhus

Aarhus is a very safe city with empathetic and helpful people. I am never afraid to walk in the streets at any time of the day, and public transportation is safe. Theft doesn’t happen often, and people are helpful.

Copenhagen

I have never felt that safe in any city I lived in or travelled to ! It is one of the country with the lowest level of criminality. I never heard of any risk living here, apart of having your bike stolen. However, I imagine that, like any place in the world, there is still sexual harassment and sexual abuse in some places here... But I didn't experienced it for now.

Aalborg

Aalborg i a very safe city overall. There have been some cases of kidnapping and knife violence, but most crimes are gang-related. Going to the clubs though the is a chance of getting drugged so don't leave drinks unattended. Some people drown in the harbor when they are drunk.

Copenhagen

Super safe, both during the day and night. Obviously things can happen and you should always be aware but generally it is very rare for anything bad to happen. Always remember to go with another person if you are drinking though. Which is always a good rule for anywhere!

Copenhagen

One of the safest cities for women, the chances of meeting with any harm are very slim. Only issues in ever heard of regarding women safety are in clubs and concerts when everyone is very drunk, and even those are very rare.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen is an incredible city to be in as a woman. I have always felt safe walking and biking around at any time of the day. There is of course still some uncomfortable experiences as a woman these can be hard to completely avoid wherever you are but the rates of it happening are very low.

Aarhus

especially the centre feels really safe. I think it's common for Denmark, but people trust each other, so I'm not scared of being rubbed or attacked. You can also leave e.g. jackets and bags unattended. Also, I barely experienced catcalling here.

Odense

I would say it's quite safe if you use your common sense. Seldom I hear anything happening in the city except for robbery in people's home, when nobody is there. I always feel safe when walking around, even when it's dark and I'm drunk.

Is Denmark worth visiting?

Travel rating

4.5 /5

Copenhagen, Group travel

The city itself was kinda safe, but it was necessary to avoid some shady parts of the city. In the dark, there were some groups shouting on the streets, probably drunken tourists. I personally went to Christiania, which, to a solo traveler, felt sometimes scary. I got cat called once there. But it seemed like a group of male tourists who went there just to get high.

Went to Denmark for a workation and it’s been perfect! Nice weather, close to the sea, and lots of sweet places. Best here definitely the nature but second stores also convince although they are a bit overpriced.
