I do feel safe in Denmark. Most people are nice and respectful. As a Muslim woman, I didn’t experience any discrimination or interference – people were generally open and accepting. Recommendations: Don’t skip the Parkmuseerne (Park Museum District) – it’s budget-friendly and gives access to several museums with one ticket. A great option if you enjoy history and culture! Food: Try the smørrebrød (traditional Danish open-faced sandwich) – it’s a must-try local dish, even if it wasn’t exactly my taste. Budget: I’m here on a visiting research stay, but for a regular traveler, I’d say expect to spend at least 350 DKK per day, depending on your activities and meals. Getting around: It’s really easy to get around. For tourists, I recommend getting a commuter card – it’s more affordable. The Metro runs 24/7, and even though there’s some summer maintenance work on the S-train, it’s easy to check the updated schedules. If you don’t get a commuter card, using a Rejsekort is a great alternative and widely accepted across all transport systems.

Copenhagen was AWESOME ! I absolutely loved my time in Copenhagen! The city is full of beautiful places to visit from colorful streets like Nyhavn, to royal castles, cozy cafés, and peaceful parks. There’s always something interesting to see or do. What made my experience even better were the people..everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful. I felt very welcome and safe the whole time. Copenhagen has such a calm, happy vibe, and I’d definitely love to come back one day! And everybody speaks english, so u can easily communicate.
Posted: July 16, 2025I felt totally safe here! I recommend getting the Copenhagen Card so you get access to transit and a bunch of attractions. There are a lot of things you can do, but I definitely recommend going for a bike ride around the city. I made friends really easily at my hostel and online. The worst thing about it was that it was really expensive. I recommend countering this by buying food at the convenience store or supermarket. Their pastries are world-famous. It’s quite walkable.

I felt save walking here. I have been to aalborg, randers, odense and kopenhagen. Food was expensive but worth it. There are a lot of things you can do. I have met amazing people there. There are a lot op museums you can visite and some are even free.
Posted: July 1, 2025I felt very safe my whole stay. We came by car, so I can't give details about the transportation. The food was delicious and grocery shopping wasn't that expensive. If you like nature and some quiet time, I'd recommend the island Manø, which is very beatiful with some really cool things to do, such as a trip to see seals.

Very safe and easy to go around on your own. I walk home alone at night and take public transport. I wear headphones everywhere without being scared. I bike by my self all the time to and walk and bike home from bars with no issue

Aarhus is very safe. Denmark is known to be one of the safest contries in the world. In Aarhus it is normal that you leave your stuff unattended when you go to the toilet and it will be very out of the ordinary if something happened or someone took your stuff.
