Hi, I am Miriam What should I say? Haven't described myself in a long time :) I try... I like nature although I live in the city. Especially lakes and woods. Doing music with other people is really a great way to communicate without words. I am dancing Forró. It's a brazilian dance. Therefore I often go to festivals in different places. Other from that I do different sports, like meeting people especially in nice places. Because often then there are also nice and open people 🙃 Sometimes I need time for myself. Then I watch series or I go for a hike. Or I try to read more. Which works sometimes better, sometimes less good 😊 So, that's it for the start.

Hi, I'm Lena. I have lived in Munich for most of my life and know the ins and outs of the city. I am lucky enough to live in an area of Germany that people from around the world travel to for their holidays. Happy to help and give advice on Munich, and Bavaria and Germany in general, share recommendations and experiences. I have travelled widely in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. If you are travelling to any countries that you see on my profile, feel free to reach out and ask for my experiences there. I just returned from a 2-month trip to India and would like to go back and explore more of this fascinating country at the next opportunity. Other than this, I would like to explore more of eastern and southeastern Europe.

Hi! I've traveled solo quite a bit and have had my own experiences with couchsurfing. I really appreciate that this platform is women-only, as it makes traveling feel more comfortable. With accommodation becoming more expensive these days, I'm open to hosting others and would be grateful if someone could host me on my trips. I currently live in a student residence with two female roommates. We have a simple but welcoming space :)

Marlene
Hey, I'm Marlene🌻 I enjoy being an old soul who reads or goes for a walk in the park. I write postcards to my loved ones when I'm somewhere. The idea that my friends and family know I'm thinking of them. I also love writing letters to my pen pals, because although writing letters is slow, it's also so much nicer and more lasting than a forgotten WhatsApp message. In general, I'm passionate about so many things! I love getting to know people and trying new things :) I'm always there when hiking, sightseeing, or enjoying a little fun drink! I really enjoy history, as well as cooking (I'm vegan).

I loved my time in Munich! I got to experience many of its wonders - singing along to YMCA and John Denver at Oktoberfest, stumbling upon crazy cool landmarks like a palace and cathedral just by wandering around, and even learning that sea urchins have Zelda-boss-eyes and some fish have arms? My 4 days there were fantastic, filled with fun, new friends, beer, and pretzels (I actually prefer American pretzels). I felt very safe in Munich, even at Oktoberfest when squashed between thousands of people in the beer tents. Only one man tried to hit on me and multiple people stepped in to stop him. I made friends there quickly, though we parted ways at the end of the celebrations. I wasn't out at night except for taking the u-bahn back to my airbnb, which felt very safe even though I was quite tipsy. The ability to get around easily was AMAZING. Munich, and my subsequent trip to Berlin, made me fall in love with public transportation even more than I already was. I didn't need to rent a car - I could even get to the castle (Neuwaschstein? Sorry I totally forgot how to spell it) from Munich within 1.5 hours on a train. On my last day there I also stumbled upon an anti-fascism and pro-LGBTQ protest, which I joined for a short time. Happy to see people around the world fighting for what's right! The Munich Zoo was also great with large exhibits for their animals. Many of the primates looked bored and skinny though, which makes me worried about their health. All other animals seemed very well taken care of. The only downside to this trip was my Airbnb, where I was promised a single private room and was instead given a bed in a dining room of an apartment where multiple men were staying. The host left food out on the kitchen counter which collected flies and smelled after a few days. I tried to spend most of my time outside of the Airbnb, and really should've canceled and stayed elsewhere. I would highly recommend Munich for its architectural beauty, safety, ability to get around, and if you can make it - Oktoberfest!

What I did in Munich: Visited BMW Museum Visited Olympic Park Liked around Mariaplatz Square Ate a traditional meal in Mariaplatz Visited and took a tour of Bayern-München Allianz Stadium I was there a day and a half total. It was very safe and clean, the people are friendly to help guide me for transportation, all the places I visited to I was satisfied. I’m not a Maylee car person but it was cool to see the BMW museum and they have free bathrooms WC:) The Olympic park was very pretty and has a little hike at a hill you can see great views from. I felt safe even getting off my bus at 2AM, but kept being aware of my surroundings. Hostels are about $20-$25 USD a night. I highly recommend Munich!!
