I grew up in Toronto but Iāve always been curious about the world and different ways of living, which is why I love traveling. For example, when I stayed in Lille, France, I arrived on a Thursday and my host was going to their community hall cultural dance and invited my friend and I to join in. So that night I got to learn old French line dancing. I could have never experienced this if I didnāt stay with a local. Thatās why, when I travel, I try to stay with as many locals, so I can have some more genuine connections while traveling. I spent one month in Toronto on a solo exchange program. Since I went through an agency, there was a group chat with other people traveling at the same time, so even though I was traveling alone, I met some of them at the airport. Once I arrived at my accommodation, I also made several friends, so I was hardly ever completely alone. I made a lot of friends, especially other Brazilians, and it was a really great experience. We did something different almost every day and explored the city...
