Solo travel experience

My first solo trip was to Portugal. It was easy to navigate and I felt extremely safe, even walking around at night. Unlike the US most restaurants and streets are still busy until 9-10 because of later dinners. I stayed in hostels and it was easy to meet people who were more than happy to invite me along to different activities. I traveled to 3 different cities by bus and I definitely recommend it.

Solo travel experience

I went to Portugal last summer, also my first time travelling solo and it was the best decision ever, I loved travelling alone and Portugal is so so beautiful. I went to Lisbon, Costa da Caparica and all the Algarve and I recommend going down South to Sagres and Lagos and visit Ponte da Piedade (the most beautiful place I have ever seen). Lisbon was really pretty, I'd recommend going up the highest hill to see the sunset and have a picnic there, also Belem with a TukTuk and get a pasteis from the famous bakery there and see Torre del Belem. I liked Alfama and for nightlife Pink Street of course and Bairro Alto. The highlight of the trip was going surfing for 4 days, which I have never done before but loved. My trip was split, the first part (Lisbon, Costa da Caparica and Setubal) was with 4 others and the Algarve (Sagres, Lagos, Albufeira, Faro, Tavira) alone. I felt safe all the time being alone.

About Me

Hello! I’m 18 years old and I live in Milan. If I have to described me with few words I surely say cheerful, funny and straightforward. I’m a really determined person and I can adapt to everything! The people who know me best could define me as a non-sporty girl but they wouldn't say I'm a lazy one either. In fact, I'm sportive when I really like the activity I'm doing, otherwise, I can't truly appreciate it. Sometimes I must stay alone but, at the same time, I need to stay with my friends hanging out and laugh with them. I'm generally friendly and curios, for this reason in this my experience I would like to meet new different people and new places. I love talking with people and try to help them, if this happens my sweetness, one of my best qualities, comes out and you can be sure I will always be next to you for every problem and difficulties. I'm always been impressed by art. Every type of it. I'm sure this thing came from my mother and her artistic bent. Unfortunately, I haven't brought from her the skill to can draw and paint, but certainly, I've learned the freedom to be whatever I want. I love travelling and take pictures, I always bring with me my camera. I enjoy adventures and the simplicity. Low cost travel, rich in emotions :)

Solo travelI’m going to Porto and would love some advice.

I’m going to Porto and would love some advice. I have a full 48 hours in Porto and was thinking of doing one day dedicated to sightseeing and book a Douro Valley Wine tour for the other day. In regards to the sightseeing, I’m torn if I should do the hop on hop off bus or just pick a few main sights and walk it/take a walk around the city. If you’ve been what do you suggest? What do I have to ma...
