Safety:Very safe

Salt Lake City, as the capital of Utah, is generally safe for solo female travelers. Like with any other large city, districts vary in safety, but most tourist areas are well-secured. Consistent vigilance is advised, especially at night and in less crowded areas. Public transport is largely safe as well. Locals are friendly and helpful, often willing to assist if you get lost or need help.

Transport:Easy

Salt Lake City has a well-planned grid system which makes it relatively easy to navigate. The city is compact, hence many of the major attractions are in walkable distance from each other. It has a reliable and convenient public transport system that includes trams, buses, and trains. However, less frequent service during weekends and nights can be a concern. In terms of safety, the city is generally safe, but it's advisable to stay cautious especially at night. Overall, it's quite easy to get around the city.

Things to do:Interesting

Salt Lake City offers a rich blend of natural beauty and urban charm. From hiking, skiing, and exploring in the scenic mountains surrounding the city to visiting historic Temple Square or going on a food tour around the city's diverse culinary scene, there are lots of engaging activities. It also has a thriving arts scene, with many impressive galleries and live music venues to explore. However, it may not offer as much variety as some larger cities.

Food:Above average

Salt Lake City offers an impressive array of dining options for a city of its size. Whether you're in the mood for an all-American burger, elegant Italian, mouth-watering sushi, or spicy Mexican fare, you're likely to find it. The presence of local craft breweries adds to the appeal. However, vegetarian or vegan travelers might find the options slightly more limiting.

Budget:Moderate

Salt Lake City offers a range of budget-friendly experiences, including economical accommodation options and free attractions like the State Capitol Building and local parks. However, costs may increase if you plan to explore the city's ski resorts or high-end dining venues.

Is Salt Lake City worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

I really enjoyed Salt Lake City. The city is quite transparent and extremely clean, with beautiful views of the mountains and hiking trails, as well as plenty of people walking around and spending time in their own ways.
