Safety:Safe

Nashville, otherwise known as the 'Music City,' is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. There is a good level of safety in the main neighborhoods, especially during the day. Common sense precautions, however, should always be taken. It's optimal to avoid walking alone at night in less-trafficked areas and to stay aware of your surroundings. Public transportation, cabs, and ride-sharing apps are readily available and reliable. The local people are known for their Southern hospitality and are often willing to help out if you encounter any trouble. As with any location, it's also important to research the area you'll be staying in and align your activities with safety in mind.

Transport:Easy

Getting around Nashville is fairly convenient. The city offers a variety of public transportation options and it is also pedestrian-friendly with many attractions close to each other. However, certain areas may require you to have a personal vehicle or use ride-sharing apps. It’s suggested to always plan your route in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

Things to do:Interesting

Nashville has a lot to offer in terms of activities, especially for music lovers. The Music City is home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry, making it an attractive choice for people who enjoy live performances. The Johnny Cash Museum and the Ryman Auditorium are also remarkable spots. Apart from music, the city also offers exciting culinary experiences, with numerous restaurants and food tours available. Nashville's parks and outdoor spaces, such as Centennial Park and the Adventure Science Center, are worth visiting as well. The city also has a good vibe for solo travelers, with plenty of welcoming cafes and boutiques.

Food:Excellent

Nashville is known for its incredibly diverse and amazing culinary scene. This city impresses with a myriad of options from classic Southern comfort foods like fried chicken and barbecue, to international cuisines such as Greek, Vietnamese, and Italian. There are also numerous food tucks, bakeries, dessert and coffee shops, as well as health-oriented eateries offering gluten-free or vegan options. In addition, the local food culture emphasizes farm-to-table dining supporting local farmers and homemade-style cooking.

Budget:Moderate

Nashville offers a middle-of-the-road experience in terms of budget friendliness. The city, known for its famed country music scene, has a mix of affordable and high-end options. Accommodation can range from budget hostels to five-star hotels, and eating out varies from economical local diners to costly gourmet restaurants. Entrance fees to top attractions, like the Country Music Hall of Fame, can add up, but there are also many free activities, like exploring downtown Nashville or hiking in one of its beautiful parks.

Is Nashville worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

I went alone. I stopped on the first avenue and felt very safe. I went to various bars and listened to different types of performances. I would recommend a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry for a show, and the Ryman for a tour.
