I spent some time in Brighton for a home sitting stay, and it was such a lovely experience! I was lucky to have great weather and really enjoyed the city’s relaxed, cosmopolitan vibe. I loved the beautiful architecture and being able to walk to the beach every day to admire the Palace Pier. During my stay, I explored the surroundings ; the stunning Seven Sisters, Birling Gap, and the famous lighthouse were unforgettable. I also tried some fun and unusual activities like visiting the Smugglers Adventure Caves and the True Crime Museum in Hastings. It was a perfect mix of culture, nature, and a bit of adventure!

Brighton is a great city. People are very welcoming and open minded. There are so many activities of all types. And the nature is beautiful with the seaside and the many hikes around such as Seven Sisters.
Posted: October 12, 2025Experienced: September, 2025I went to Brighton alone and I can say that I felt quite safe there. There are many bright lights at night, from the station to the beach. North Laine was my favorite area, there are many cool shops there. I would also recommend the restaurant "We love falafel", absolutely amazing food.

Safe but mindfulness of the surroundings is required on a night out. Main streets well lit.
Posted: December 4, 2025It's an overall safe town with a high population of students but I would be careful walking alone in the dark and especially aware of certain areas such as St James street in Kemptown and the Level. Otherwise it is safe to walk around in the evenings in the more residential areas.

Brighton is generally safe, although there is a high population of drug users that late nights will be around on the streets in the city centre. But police is always active and think it's all kept under surveillance.

It's safe enough, I've been able to walk alone at night with no one bothering me, men are loud but won't bother you mostly, not a lot of people being too noisy or watching what you are wearing , lost people keep to themselves

Brighton is quite safe during the day if you are in the central area where there are a lot of people. I feel completely safe when I’m with my friends and during the day. However, I would not recommend you to be outside by yourself at night. Before coming to Brighton, research area you are going to be staying at so you know how careful you should be.
