Tunisia is a wonderful country. Its location makes it a melting pot of cultures that have been absorbed during centuries, making it a unicum in the world. People are welcoming and warm. However, moving to the South of the country, in rural areas or even in some neighborhoods in Tunis is not recommended during night for a women alone.

honestly it was one of my most beautiful trips ever to Tunisia. Sousse is really a beautiful city, there were a lot of lights because I went on Christmas and it looked very expensive and choc. people there are so open minded too. I went to iberostar kantaoui hotel and everything was perfect about the hotel from the food to the service to the clean rooms, love it 🩷

I stayed in Iberostar Royal El Mansour. It was amazing. The whole hotel grounds are secure, staff is very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. There was literally everything. I highly recommend the hotel spa as well. There were so many programs as well for example horse riding, caravana (camel riding), watching dolphins in the sea, quad riding, pirate ship trip and you could even rent a small plane but you had to do it with the help of your guide. I mostly used taxis to get around since it was the easiest way but i have to warn you they drive like crazy! (There was also a two day trip around Tunisia and Sahara that we were supposed to attend but couldn’t in the end due to health issues)
Posted: September 16, 2024Overall i think it s safe. I didn’t walk alone at night so i can’t comment on that. There is a lot of activities that you can do like enjoying a hike in the nature, doing cultural activities like visiting museums, the old town to enjoy arabic architecture, visiting mosques etc. The beach is very clean and peaceful. Overall very nice expensive at a low budget. Also people were super friendly and very welcoming.

I stayed in the Medina of Tunis at a Palace Hotel. Felt like a queen. The room was glorious. Next to the accommodation was a traditional Hamam for local women. Beautiful experience. I loved to walk around the markets, bazaar. Tunisian food is delicious and Harira spices my favorite. I love the Jazmin oil for the body and the oil perfumes. I felt very safe really and the people are so lovely and welcoming.

I lived 3 months in Tunisia, Tunis so I decided to go one day in Bizerte to meet another vegan friend. We didn’t do much.We ate and drank something. There s a special dish vegan friendly called lablebi sandwich. Food is very affordable. The sea amazing. I bought some music CD which I adore. Usually the taxi is shared and inexpensive. But you need more local guidance.
Posted: June 22, 2024Tunisia is safe and cheap. An amazing country that I can't stop missing. The delicious spicy food, the friendly hospitable people, and the wonderful views.
Posted: April 6, 2024I've been to Tunisia twice on my own and I traveled around by taxi. I felt safe. I got some silly pick-up lines from teenagers on the beach, but a firm refusal was enough to fend them off.
Posted: April 1, 2024When I walked alone on the beaches, guys would approach me, either wanting to chat, take a photo, or straight up propositioning sex but I didn't feel in danger. I was more discouraged by the fact that it was the same thing over and over again and it was hard to fend them off. Apart from that had a great time in Tunisia.
Posted: March 31, 2024Favorite trip Ive taken, went with an organized tour. So much to see and do, fantastic food. Extremely inexpensive. The people are very nice and helpful, in my experience. Did get playful comments on my appearance but no harrassment or catcalling. Would suggest going with an organized tour if you want to see the whole country as I dont think they have great tourist infrastructure (when compared to Morocco and Egypt for example)

Tunis is quite safe especially if you avoid just a few areas after dark which are already well known and could be easily avoided . All touristy places are very safe. As a women I think it’s a good place to live or visit.

It’s not a crouded city and it’s basically a military base . There’s military everywhere. It’s also safe at night and people here are polite, warm and open minded . Why do I have to write this much omg
