I went to Tunisia with a friend of mine and we stayed mostly in Bizerte, but also in Zarzis, so more in the South for a week. The weather is really nice, it is cheap, and the women are very friendly. The men in the opposite, are catcalling you all the time and looking at you as if they have never seen a woman, even if we always have unrevealing clothes! After some time, you get used to it, but inthe beginning it is very strange. The water is nice, but the beaches are not cleaned outside of the season so they are really dirty with dead animals, plants and rubbish. Same with the monuments, but without the trash everywhere, it is really beautiful!

I was doing a volunteer project for 6 weeks in Sfax. I actually felt safe. People were nice, and I wasn't scammed much, especially compared to more touristic cities in Tunesia. If you want to do a trip around Tunesia it is not really worth it but I can absolutely recommend the Medina in Sfax, it is very beautiful and very cheap.
Posted: October 11, 2025Experienced: September, 2025Djerba was a dream a very beautiful dream. It’s the perfect place for everyone. We went as a family so we’re very grateful for having children activities all the time so we won’t be worried about children while we enjoy our time. The beaches were so clean and beautiful and the markets are amazing and it’s not even that much expensive. We loved the food and the traditional clothes that our host offered us to try also the boat trip that we took. To cap it all, djerba is a really safe place and a great distinction to spend your holiday in.

Tunis is overall safe if you dress with the cultural context in mind, as a born and raised Tunisian I have never experienced anything in this city that has made me seriously consider it has a safety issue. As they tell you in other capitals in the public transport: don’t use your phone, be mindful of your belongings!
Posted: October 14, 2025If you don’t know Tunisia, let me tell you: it’s one of the safest countries in the region for women. Here, we have strong laws that protect us against violence, and there are centers where women can go if they need help or support. In the streets, schools, and workplaces, you will always see many women active and present, which makes daily life feel more open and secure. Of course, no place is without challenges, but Tunisia really tries to create an environment where women can feel safe, respected and free
Posted: September 28, 2025It’s pretty much safe. The police are basically everywhere and they’re so friendly and open to answer questions also the people are so friendly and helpful and they’re very knowledgeable about the foreigners countries and you can easily talk with them about everything and they will absolutely understand.
