Interlaken was incredible! I only got to go for a few hours, but I already have plans to go back. The views are unmatched and I’d recommend it over any big city in Switzerland. It was very safe and small town feel.

It is a famous, touristic city, only one guy wanted my number but he didn't look like a local so I simply politely declined his request. It was the only "issue" I had during my trip, they try to approach tourists I guess too but overall everything was good and I didn't experience any inconvenience due to my solo traveling.

New year in Switzerland. I and two of my friends joined an open trip to Switzerland and it was such a winter wonderland! Everywhere you see is white and people were walking around with their ski gears. Although not as clear as in the summertime, the Aare river was also pretty and becoming a contrast with the surrounding area. We went to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald which are breathtaking in its own way. For the food, it is costly so I recommend a supermarket visit like Coop. They have delicious line of ready-made like chicken (!!), salad etc.

Interlaken is a very safe place for anyone travelling solo. Never heard of anything bad happen to girls, boys, kids or elderly persons at all. I think the chances of being robbed are very low too but I recommend to keep an eye on your stuff anyway
Posted: June 15, 2025I would say, Interlaken is a very safe city. It has a lot of lights in the streets and a lot of bus- or taxi- transport posibilities. In the night, personaly, I feel not in danger and it is no problem to walk alone. Over all, Interlaken is a very safe city.

Posted: October 15, 2024It is quite save. You can easily walk around with a (female) friend everywhere at any time. The people here are very polite and if you would left something behind they make sure it comes back to you. As a queer person I feel okey walking down the streets
