Safety:Very safe

San Sebastian is generally a safe city for solo female travelers. Police presence is noticeable and most areas are well-lit, even at night. Public transportation is reliable and safe. However, like any other location, it is still recommended to take precautions, especially during late hours. Always be aware of your surroundings, use common sense, and avoid poorly lit and deserted areas whenever possible. Theft from pickpockets, a common issue in many tourist destinations, can sometimes occur, so keeping your belongings secure is crucial.

Transport:Easy

San Sebastian is a compact and walkable city, with a very efficient public transportation system. The major sights can be easily reached on foot or by bike, while buses help connect all key areas. It's generally safe, pedestrian-friendly, and the locals are usually willing to assist if you lose your way. However, navigating the city might prove a bit challenging if you do not understand Spanish.

Things to do:Interesting

San Sebastian is a dream location offering pristine beaches for sunbathing and watersports, gorgeous mountains for hiking, a thriving food scene, and a myriad of historical attractions. Whether you are an adventure seeker, a history aficionado, or a food enthusiast, San Sebastian has something for you. However, the reason it’s not a full score is that during off-peak season the city could feel a bit quiet in some neighborhoods.

Food:Excellent

San Sebastian is an absolute paradise for food lovers. Not only is it particularly famous for its gastronomic tradition, but the diversity of the cuisine available is also unparalleled. You can find anything from traditional Basque cuisine to experimental fusion dishes. Street food in the form of pintxos (small snacks) is an absolute must-try, as are the many varieties of seafood. Fresh local produce and fine culinary craftsmanship will make your taste buds dance with delight, proving that San Sebastian truly is one of the food capitals of the world.

Budget:Moderate

San Sebastian isn't the cheapest European destination but can be affordable. It offers a range of accommodation, food, and transport options catering to different budgets. High-end dining, especially at Michelin-starred eateries, will cost a lot. However, you can also find budget-friendly pintxos bars and free attractions like its beautiful beaches.

Very good and sunny ! It’s very helpful for mental health! I was with my family and we visited all the city and it was so good. I think it’s better when you are adult because you are more free etc !🥰

Solo travel experience

Had a great time there. Amazing place to have some hiking tours over the day and some food in the old town in the evenig. Ocean is perfect for a cool swim after a exhausting day. Definitely coming back one day. Can really recommend to have some of the best cheescake here.
