Safety:Very safe

Mallorca is considerably safe for solo female travelers. The local people are largely friendly and helpful to tourists. Crime rates are low, especially in comparison to other tourist destinations. However, like any place, it's always important to exercise general caution. Be aware of your surroundings, especially when visiting more secluded areas or traveling at night.

Transport:Easy

Mallorca has a wide array of transportation options from buses to taxis and cycling paths, ensuring good connectivity around the island. Even though the signage can sometimes be confusing, the locals are usually welcoming and more than willing to assist. Furthest attractions may require some planning, but overall, it's often fairly simple to navigate.

Things to do:Interesting

Mallorca is rich in natural beauty and diverse landscapes. It scores high for its pristine beaches, crystal clear water and hidden coves. For outdoor enthusiasts, the island offers impressive hiking and cycling routes, especially in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. It has a vibrant city life too with historical sites, such as the stunning gothic Cathedral in Palma, Bellver Castle and Drach Caves. Delicious Spanish cuisine, unique wineries, and diverse shopping opportunities add to its appeal. It may not be a 5 due to relatively less options for those interested in cutting-edge contemporary arts scene.

Food:Above average

Mallorca offers a diverse array of food options ranging from traditional Spanish cuisine to more international options. The island is particularly acclaimed for its fresh seafood and local produce. Traditional dishes such as Sobrasada, Tumbet, and Ensaimada provide an authentic taste of Mallorca's rich culinary heritage. There's also a growing trend towards fusion and modern cuisine. The diversity is good, but it can be a little challenging to find options for certain dietary requirements like vegan or gluten-free.

Budget:Moderate

Mallorca offers a wide range of accommodations and dining options, making it manageable for various budgets. You can find affordable hotels, hostels, and vacation rentals. Moreover, the island offers free or relatively inexpensive activities such as hiking and beach visits. However, high-end restaurants and tourist attractions can increase your expenditures, especially during peak season. So, while you can certainly enjoy a budget trip to Mallorca with careful planning, you should also be prepared for some higher costs.

Solo travel experience

Spent a few days walking, hiking, and swimming. So much to see and so much accessible by foot or bike (lots of cyclists and rentals everywhere). Incredible beaches (sandy on one side, rocky on the other). Super safe, stress-free place. Absolutely recommend it for solo travel.

Group travel experience

We felt very safe during our stay, I can recommend booking a “Finca” instead of a hotel! There are many houses (for example on Airbnb) with great prices if you’re planning on going with a group of people (so the prices can split). Santanyí has some great restaurants! Our favourite has been “Anoa” - we’ve been there twice in a week.

Mallorca is amazing. But better to rent a car next time. The island offers a loy and the vibes are great. Beautiful views everywhere. The city is clean, port is nice, the weather is good too. Many nice cozy beaches accesible by bus

Solo travel experience

I recently returned from a short solo trip to Majorca. I felt very safe there. I even left my belongings on the beach, but for peace of mind, I kept my phone, documents, and money in a waterproof case. I didn't experience any discomfort traveling around the island.

Solo travel experience

Mallorca was beautiful, warm, and I felt safe there. On the first day, I visited Palmanova and relaxed on the beach. It was pleasant, but too cold to swim. The next day, I took a bus to Palma and did a sightseeing tour around the city, stopping at the castle. I also took part in a boat trip. The cathedral in Palma was stunning. Then I walked around the city. On the third day, I boarded a hundred-year-old train from Palma to Soller, which was the best part of my trip.
