I didn't know that I needed a vacay in this city till I had it! After one year, I still cant get over THE VIBES! I'm ecstatic how safe this city felt, especially after living in many western european cities for the last 5 years. The old town is just amazing: the Cankarjevo Nabrezje, the Triple Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, are all musts that one cannot miss. Lots of shops with dragon-souvenirs and interesting thrift stores with variety. With my partner we did the Escape from Ljubljana Castle which was super fun and well organized. In general the prices are not expensive, ut depends on one's budget ofc but overall there are places for everyone. We did Cantina mexicana and found them fair. There was also an open kitchen str food festival that we found super cool- every Friday at Pogačarjev Trg in the Old Town near the Tripple Bridge. I wasn't wowed by tivoli park ljubljana but it was a nice park to walk to, it felt clean and safe even after dusk. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did :)
Posted: June 24, 2025Experienced: August, 2024Not Ljubljana, in general, the whole Slovenian country is safe. As myself, I love to explore the city and new food also, so I recommend that! Slovenians have very good pizza in the center of Ljubljana and I loved the cocktails too! If you want to try many things in the center of Ljubljana while you travel, you should have a budget of 300-400 euro just for yourself for 5 or 7 days let’s say. I stayed in a rented apartment which my friend is living, she is studying in Ljubljana. I purchased a ticket for a few days to use the bus, I was close to the center, so I didn’t really use it tho.
Posted: June 22, 2025When I travelled to Ljubljana, I thought it is a beautiful city full of nature and quite cheap. How surprised I was, when I discovered there is no cheap transportation between city and nature and I cannot reach any peaceful, natural place on foot

Although this was the capital city, there was not much, I loved the kindness, cleanliness and safty around here and sights are amazing but unless you are only looking for sites then you make want to travel around a bit maybe to bled
Posted: June 16, 2025My solo trip to Ljubljana felt very safe and I was far from being the only tourist there. Talking to people along the way, enjoying the weather and having nice food. I tried the dumplings and they were good (it tastes a bit like pancakes). It is advicable to leave Ljubljana to see other sights as well if your trip exceeds 2-3 days imo!
Posted: May 31, 2025Experienced: April, 2025I spend an amazing week in Ljubljana, Slovenia with my friends. We explored the city, went to some bars, climbed to the castle. The atmosphere in the city is really cozy, it feels like a smaller version of Vienna:) People are super friendly, almost everyone knows English. I felt rather safe but I think it was also because I was never alone. So that might depend on if you're a solo traveler. Overall I really enjoyed the trip and definitely recommend visiting Ljubljana!

Ljubljana is generally safe it has only become a bit less safe lately. It is still fine, everything is walkable distance and strangers would help you if anything suspicious happened. But still, some roberries and some sexual harassment.
Posted: June 24, 2025Ljubljana is pretty safe i would say especially if you’re with a friend, but even if you’re not it’s cool. Sometimes there are weird guys or people but they just stare or make comments to their friends, which is of course very uncomfortable but they are mostly harmless physically if you just ignore them.
