I spend an amazing week in Ljubljana, Slovenia with my friends. We explored the city, went to some bars, climbed to the castle. The atmosphere in the city is really cozy, it feels like a smaller version of Vienna:) People are super friendly, almost everyone knows English. I felt rather safe but I think it was also because I was never alone. So that might depend on if you're a solo traveler. Overall I really enjoyed the trip and definitely recommend visiting Ljubljana!

Couple travel

I traveled with my 2 other female friends and it was one of the safest places Ive ever been. The locals are so friendly and welcoming. You can walk in anytime of the day without any worries. Transportation is amazing. You can hire a bike all over the city and everywhere is a ride away. I highly recommend to experience the city without any worries

Ljubljana was the only place where I went and it felt like a home. The city is very beautiful and has a soul, people are kind, food is great, I recommend the place "Šeherzada" in the center of city. There you can get burger or kebab for 4-5€, big pizza is 8€, its really affordable and delicious. The city was quite expensive for me but I didn't spent that much, around 50-60€, I was there only for a day so can't recommend transport or place to stay ♡

Solo travel

Ljubljana has a fantastic atmosphere and is worth visiting, at least during a trip around Slovenia. The city is quite small, with many medieval streets, as well as a castle hill, which offers a magnificent panorama. It's necessary to visit the bar on the top floor of the skyscraper, where you can indulge in drinks with a view of the entire city. It's also worth trying the Balkan burek, Slovenian gibanica, and super-sweet Hungarian chimney cakes that are perfect for posting on Instagram.

Solo travel

In my opinion, Ljubljana can be easily skipped during a trip to Slovenia. I didn't see anything there that couldn't be found in other cities. The capital was the weakest part of my trip, but the rest of Slovenia is wonderful and definitely worth a visit.

Solo travel

Certainly if you visit Slovenia, you should stop in Ljubljana, a charming city with several nice museums, but also take a day trip (or stay overnight) to Bled and walk around Bled Lake, it is stunning!!

Overall I’d say Ljubljana is safe. It is very much safer than a lot of Europe countries, yet nowdays the crime and sexual harrasment is increasing sadly. But honestly I do feel safe myself. More through the day than night for sure, and knowing some marshal arts and having safety precautions plays a big role in it.

About me

I’m 25 years old, a young and reflexive explorer and often solo traveler open and curious to meet new various people. I like to discuss politics, but not just current events but more importantly how people experience political life and society in their everyday life. And especially when talking to women I like to share experiences of how it is to be a woman in this society. I believe there is more feminism work to be done, again and again 💪🏻. I also like small talking I’m not just a nerd ☺️. I like to walk, dance and spend time in nature, do yoga and go to parties with good music (techno, rock, synth and 80s pop). I love to discover the music and the food of the country that I’m visiting 🌸.
