I spend an amazing week in Ljubljana, Slovenia with my friends. We explored the city, went to some bars, climbed to the castle. The atmosphere in the city is really cozy, it feels like a smaller version of Vienna:) People are super friendly, almost everyone knows English. I felt rather safe but I think it was also because I was never alone. So that might depend on if you're a solo traveler. Overall I really enjoyed the trip and definitely recommend visiting Ljubljana!

I traveled with my 2 other female friends and it was one of the safest places Ive ever been. The locals are so friendly and welcoming. You can walk in anytime of the day without any worries. Transportation is amazing. You can hire a bike all over the city and everywhere is a ride away. I highly recommend to experience the city without any worries

Ljubljana was the only place where I went and it felt like a home. The city is very beautiful and has a soul, people are kind, food is great, I recommend the place "Šeherzada" in the center of city. There you can get burger or kebab for 4-5€, big pizza is 8€, its really affordable and delicious. The city was quite expensive for me but I didn't spent that much, around 50-60€, I was there only for a day so can't recommend transport or place to stay ♡
Posted: March 31, 2024Experienced: February, 2024Ljubljana has a fantastic atmosphere and is worth visiting, at least during a trip around Slovenia. The city is quite small, with many medieval streets, as well as a castle hill, which offers a magnificent panorama. It's necessary to visit the bar on the top floor of the skyscraper, where you can indulge in drinks with a view of the entire city. It's also worth trying the Balkan burek, Slovenian gibanica, and super-sweet Hungarian chimney cakes that are perfect for posting on Instagram.
Posted: October 14, 2023In my opinion, Ljubljana can be easily skipped during a trip to Slovenia. I didn't see anything there that couldn't be found in other cities. The capital was the weakest part of my trip, but the rest of Slovenia is wonderful and definitely worth a visit.
Posted: October 13, 2023Certainly if you visit Slovenia, you should stop in Ljubljana, a charming city with several nice museums, but also take a day trip (or stay overnight) to Bled and walk around Bled Lake, it is stunning!!
Posted: October 25, 2022To do: - Walk along the beautiful canal - See the Triple Bridge - Climb up to the castle - Try Slovenian street food Safety: As a solo traveler, I always felt safe. Recommendations: Ljubljana is a small and charming city. I highly recommend spending one day there, and another at Lake Bled.
Posted: September 17, 2022Things to do: - Climb the castle in Ljubljana to see city views - Wander the streets of Ljubljana - Cross the Triple Bridge - Take a boat ride Safety: I felt incredibly safe. Posted: September 10, 2022To Do: - Ljubljana Castle - Dragon Bridge - Tivoli Park - Triple Bridge - Prešeren Square - Metelkova Centre of Art - Central Market - Ljubljana Cathedral - Ljubljanica Safety: I felt very safe. Recommendations: Ljubljana is beautiful but it's small. The country is quite cheap, the food is delicious, and people are very friendly.

Ljubljana is a safe city, there are no dangerous neighbourhoods and it is safe to walk around for women even during the night. Crime rate is low, maybe just avoid really dark streets and underground tunnels
Posted: December 30, 2024Overall I’d say Ljubljana is safe. It is very much safer than a lot of Europe countries, yet nowdays the crime and sexual harrasment is increasing sadly. But honestly I do feel safe myself. More through the day than night for sure, and knowing some marshal arts and having safety precautions plays a big role in it.

Hey 😊 Amidst of finding myself, i'm learning to improve my social skills and would love for meeting more people and experience something new. I love traveling, learning, improving, have a thing for languages and am most probably as obssessed with discovering the new as 5 year olds are with dinousaurs 🫣 Very pet friendly, and a biker 🏍

I'm Julia and I come from Poland, but I'm currently doing an Erasmus Internship in Ljubljana. I'm a theoretical physics student, planning to be a scientist. I love broadly understood culture - from reading books, through movies and tv shows, to theatre and music. That's why I love traveling so much, as it is a great opportunity to experience different cultures.

I’m 25 years old, a young and reflexive explorer and often solo traveler open and curious to meet new various people. I like to discuss politics, but not just current events but more importantly how people experience political life and society in their everyday life. And especially when talking to women I like to share experiences of how it is to be a woman in this society. I believe there is more feminism work to be done, again and again 💪🏻. I also like small talking I’m not just a nerd ☺️. I like to walk, dance and spend time in nature, do yoga and go to parties with good music (techno, rock, synth and 80s pop). I love to discover the music and the food of the country that I’m visiting 🌸.
