Safety at night:Very safe

Izola is a relatively small but vibrant coastal town with a very low crime rate. A strong sense of community and good policing makes it safe to be out even in the later hours. Though, as with anywhere, it's important to stay in well-lit areas and avoid unpopulated spots. The majority of locals are welcoming, and many speak English, so you should feel safe while enjoying the nightlife here. But, as a sensible precaution, always stay alert and cautious.

Public transportation:Very safe

In Izola, public transportation such as buses and taxis are known for their safety and punctuality. Unscheduled or unexpected events are quite rare. Both locals and tourists largely rely on these modes of transport. The drivers are professional and acquainted with the city's routes. Besides, people around are generally friendly, making the journey comfortable and secure. Remember, however, to always keep an eye on your belongings, not for the crime, which is very low but to avoid misplacing your items.

Street harassment:Low

Izola is generally known for its safety, respect, and hospitality towards travelers. Street harassment is not commonplace, and many solo female travelers have reported positive experiences when exploring the town. However, as with any destination, it is always important to stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night or in deserted areas.

Petty crimes:Low

Petty crimes such as purse snatching, pickpocketing, or minor theft in Izola, are minimal but could occasionally occur. It's a generally safe and peaceful holiday destination, especially if standard precautions are taken to protect personal items.

Tap water:Very safe

In Izola, the tap water is not only safe but highly recommended for consumption. With stringent water standards, the quality and safety of the water are regularly monitored. It is clean, fresh, and tastes good. It is definitely a cheaper and more environmentally friendly option than buying bottled water.

Solo travel experience

Charming seaside village on the Slovenian coast of Istria. Beautiful harbor for evening walks and large parks for rest or bathing like the locals, both from the waterfront and from piers extending into the water. There is also a walking path that starts along the coast. Admire the amazing view of the Italian coast.
