Overall very very safe, and the police will reach out fast. And night on Saturday and Thursday (sometimes Friday) are the days when people go out clubbing in the city, so at that time you might experience that people try to talk to you on the stress, but would not harm you. And the police are everywhere (both as civilians and with uniforms).

It’s getting wilder and wilder IMO. Especially in the Main Street where the gangs hang out. There is a few ppl who is known around this city for harassing and threatening strangers. Unfortunately. I feel safer in say, Krakow, than I do in Kristiansand.

Norway is known to be one of the safest countries in the world. Crime rates are extremely low even in major cities such as Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, and Stavanger. As with any other urban areas, you should take certain precautions but there's not much to be afraid of.

It’s very safe. You can walk around with your phone up all the time, and whenever you are out. If you go to a big party with kids, maybe watch out for getting something if your drink if you go to the biggest festivals. This is typical in may and at Palmesus. The police is always nice and trustworthy, so feel free to approach if you feel uncomfortable during night time or whenever.
