I love visiting Groningen - I absolutely recommend renting a bike to get the actual local authentic experience. The city museum is just fantastic, food options are diverse and exciting, lots of nice bars and cofee places, especially in the city centre and close to Rijksuniversity. The park is also a must see, and coffeeshops are safe also for a solo travellers that wants to try!

So far so good! Still got a few days to spare, but I've seen some of the city and explored a bit on Mt own without any problems.

There are always people around in the city witch makes it feel saver to walk around at night. There are a lot of police men so the change that anyone will do something to you are very small. I dont like to walk or ride the bije alone at night, but i would like that any where

If things get stolen, it's your bike. I feel safe overall. I walk home in the middle of the night after a night out. On day time you aswell safe to do everything. But bad things can happen everywhere in the world. Always be smart.
