Groningen
Hey Hey✌🏽 My name is Selma (25) and I'm born in the Netherlands. I'm currently busy with my bachelor thesis in Coastal & Marine management and work as a grocery delivery driver. I love nature, sports and coffee and to curl up on the couch with a nice book or play some video games with my partner :) 🏳️🌈 Agender Pronounce: Any (just switch them around)
Personally I've never had an unsafe situation in groningen. But on Thursday to Saturday nights there's alot of parties, and dutch people aren't afraid to approach. Id recommend not persee going out very late at night. Groningen city is relatively crowded so theres always people around and near. If you go the the country side there's alot less people, I live in the country side, Personally ive never had issues walking alone late at night, in the dark. (I do recommend not walking alone persee, but it's possible)

Posted: November 12, 2025Groningen is a very safe city! I always walk alone anytime of the day, I had some rare occasions where I was disturbed by a stranger but that almost never happens. But as anywhere in the world pay attention to your surroundings and don’t walk alone after dark in deserted places.
Posted: September 15, 2025Very safe, most people are easy going. Only Paddepoel, Vinkhuizen, Selwerd, and Oosterpoortwijk are a bit less preferable. Also at night it is best to keep business to yourself at the big stations. But overall a great city to be in.
