It's a safe city, there's some local weirdos, but they barely come out at night. I often bike 20 minutes in the middle of the night, and so far, I've only been scared once. This was by one of the locals, so I knew how to go around.

Deventer is overall a safe city. I have lived here since my birth and i have had no problems so far. Yes there are some places in Deventer you would like to stay away from. But overall, biking at night and walking around at night is no problem at all. I also have never felt worried about anything getting stolen or being pickpocketed
