Safety:Very safe

Brno, situated in the Czech Republic, is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Like other European cities, it possesses a low crime rate and local people are often willing to assist tourists. That being said, some degree of caution is still necessary. Standard precautions such as avoiding desolate areas late at night and being aware of your belongings to prevent pickpocketing is advised. As long as you practice general safety measures, your trip to Brno should be enjoyable and worry-free.

Transport:Easy

Traveling around Brno is relatively straightforward. The city is not too big, so walking is a viable option to see many major sights. In addition, there is an efficient public transportation system that includes trams, buses, and trolleybuses covering the wider city area. However, navigation might pose a slight challenge if you don't speak Czech as not all information is available in English.

Things to do:Interesting

Brno, the Czech Republic's second largest city, is known for its relaxed atmosphere, unique architecture, and rich history. It is a charming oasis that boasts a number of historical sites like the Spilberk Castle and the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. It also offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and boating. The city is a focal point for science and education, evident in the Mendel Museum. It's also home to great café culture and thriving nightlife, with a number of bars and pubs providing opportunities to meet locals and fellow travelers.

Food:Above average

Brno offers a diverse array of culinary experiences ready to sate your taste buds. Traditional Czech cuisines are hearty and enticing, with a distinctive Central European flair, featuring meat dishes and pastries. Besides, the city is adapting to international tastes and dietary requirements with various global cuisine options including vegan and vegetarian eateries. The street food scene and local breweries add another dimension to the gastronomic journey. However, there are fewer fancy or upscale restaurants compared to a larger city.

Budget:Affordable

Brno is quite budget-friendly, especially compared to the capital city, Prague. You can find affordable accommodation, and the food and drink prices are also reasonable. Free walking tours are available for sightseeing. However, some attractions might require a paid entrance. Public transportation is reliable and cost-effective.

Is Brno worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

I loved Brno and I really enjoyed it there. Great shopping, food, very affordable prices, beautiful cathedral, cool castle, and excellent beers. The old town is beautiful.
