based on 4 experiences
I've been to Lithuania a few times. Their capital Vilnius is extremely charming and beautiful with tons of historical and cultural things to experience. The town of Trakai about 30 minutes out of Vilnius is beautiful and very lively in the summer, as well as being home to a famous and beautifully well-restored old castle. Kaunas is a smaller city, but would definitely also recommend visiting. The infrastructure between the main cities is great, and their tram/bus net also reaches most parts of the country within a reasonable time. Overall the country has a very original vibe, very friendly people, and great things to offer.
My recommendations - Trakai Castle - Vilnius Cathedral - Palanga or Klaipeda (towns on Baltic coast) - Coronian Spit and a hike on Neringa Kalnas to see the artistic carvings of Dragons and goblins and witches - Sialuai and the Hill of Crosses - Eat lots of cepilinai!
