It depends of which part of the city you are but for the most part it is very safe. I'm not scared to walk alone on the streets, even at night. Mostly there's stuff happening in the center though nothing too serious, mostly just drunk people.
Posted: September 16, 2025It’s a quite small city to the point where most of the people know each other. But due to an increased rate of immigrants, coming from Ukraine and east Asia, I’d consider still not letting my guard down. They often walk around Siauliai in small groups, especially at night, which can be uncomfortable for a girl walking alone. So my advice would be to stick together WITH someone, and carry a safety tool kit like pepper spray, mini knife and etc… Just in case. But don’t get too frustrated, there are very few reported cases in our city. I’d say it’s 80% safe

Šiauliai is my hometown and it's very safe like the restof the Lithuania. People you'll meet are respectful and will try to help if you need information or something. Younger people speak English very well, older people usually speak Russian. In general, Šiauliai is a safe place to visit 🌞
