Kaunas is generally safe just don’t go to those sketchy garage complexes but genuinely i’ve never had theft or violence, etc. happen and so haven’t my family members or friends and we’ve been living here all our lives💕

From my experience Kaunas is a very safe city to live and travel too. Women can safely walk around alone ir with friend group anytime of the day. Since I moved here ~1 year ago I never had an experience were I felt I was in danger when exploring the city
Posted: May 26, 2026It’s really safe – I haven't heard about pickpockets or other crimes in day time. The only thing to watch out for is drunk people, especially in the evenings when passing by bars, since there can be pushy men looking for attention or making comments. During the day everything is safe, of course you should follow basic safety rules just like anywhere else. At night, it’s better not to walk through courtyards, since you never know what might happen there, but overall it’s safe.

quite a safe place to be. public transportation is safe no matter the time of day and people are ok too. during the night not many people are around outside the city center, so the vibes might be weird as no one is around, but i never had a bad experience even when walking alone at night for an hour.
